Wishful thinking???

Im so excited that we are finally pregnant with dc2. I've been for my first scan and now I just can't wait to find out what we are having. We already have a DS and would love a DD so we have one of each but we are really just happy with whichever we get as long as it's happy and healthy.

I've read up online and found lots of wives tales that predict gender. I've done the needle and string over the wrist test, I've done needle and string over tummy test, I've done cabbage test and I've done the baking soda test which have all come back as girl. Then what really shocked me was when I was cleaning today I looked out the window and there were 3 magpies stood in my garden!!!

Anyone think there is actually truth in this madness or is it all a coincidence?!

Absolute madness, sorry!

Congratulations on your pregnancy though:)

It's probably a coincidence but congratulations regardless!

I'm also craving sweet things, lots of cakes, fruit, chocolate, sweeties......in general I'm a very savoury-liking person. Normally eat next to no chocolate and could live on crisps but completely gone off of crisps!!

Old wives tales mean absolutely nothing.

It might be a girl... You've got a 50% chance anyway! Rationally you know that seeing 3 magpies in no way means you're having a girl don't you?!

Congratulations on your pregnancy OP.

I kept seeing 7 magpies on my way to work this summer/autumn -not a clue what that means!

Everyone keeps telling me I'm having a boy -apparently I look like I'm having a boy and my gran-in-law dreamt it was a boy.

7 for a secret never to be told Smile.

The number of magpies you see together usually depends on the time of year, i.e whether it's breeding season or not

Jenny everyone thought I was having a boy last time. MIL was 100% convinced and she is never, ever wrong. I was carrying exactly like it was a boy and there was no way on earth it was a girl. Funny thing was we'd found out at our 20 week scan that we were having a girl but didn't tell anyone that we knew. It was very funny to listen to.

I once saw 11 magpies sitting on our garage, scared the crap out of me.
