We bought one thing the day we found out we was pregnant- a keepsake.
Then started straight after first scan.
But I'm in the camp of if something goes wrong it had nothing to do with me buying stuff. It was going to happen regardless.

Basically buy when you feel comfortable to :)

We'll start buying stuff after the 20 week scan next week. I'll just feel more comfortable with it then. After a previous mc, I don't want to be stuck looking at a bunch of beautiful baby things with no baby. It's not a superstition thing. But I agree with Hobby, buy when you personally feel happy doing it.

With baby no 2, after the 20 week scan. With baby no 1, after the 12 week scan..and then we had a mmc. I now have to look at keepsakes and be reminded! Couldn't take them back, and it didn't feel right giving them to the next baby.

Having said that, buying something isn't got to change what nature will decide. Your call really!

But pg is long, and you're better to wait imo! Baby no 3...hmmm....2 weeks before he was born

I'm 13+4 and just put depositin pushchair. My thinking being if anything does go wrong ive lost the deposit. Also bought a few extra wet wipes with each shop knowing I can use these on my other kiddies :) xx

With #1 I bought a cuddly toy after 12wk scan, then h bought a wee coat after the 20wk scan. We waited till 25/26 wks to buy pram and furniture because that was after Christmas and the sales were on. Clothes from... 28 weeks? Only because I didn't want to get carried away and had nowhere to store things.

I'm going to start keeping an eye out for good bargains from 20 weeks. I don't want to clog up space so early on.

We've been given a few second hand bit by others and I have my DH a "my daddy rocks" vest suit in his Christmas stocking.

I bought a hat at 6 weeks, a few bits at 10 weeks then nothing until 20 weeks. We had everything bought or ordered by 30 weeks. Babies came 4 weeks later.

Buy when you feel ready. I had bought nothing except a few sleeps suits and was caught out when my daughter was born 9 weeks early! Then it was a bit of a mad dash.

I didn't buy anything til about 22 weeks now I'm kinda addicted

At 14w bought the cotbed and travel system in the sales (last week). Been given some bits and pieces. It's all in the MIL loft for now.

I bought some clothes after 20 week scan. Ordered pram about 6 months but didn't have it in house (superstitious mum and I'm afraid it's rubbed off). Then got everything else in one massive delivery at 36 weeks. I'm an anxious person and just didn't want the stuff in the house until I knew we were almost there.

People are different though. Someone else I know is 24 weeks and she has absolutely everything.

I don't know how far I am, possibly 5 weeks. I won't be buying much for a good while, but I have bidded on a few maternity clothes on eBay, because they are really nice, really me if that makes sense!
I don't think we will buy much until we are in the safer zone and have told our respective DC, and I'd like the DC to be a really big part of buying some nice outfits and cuddly toys etc. We are a blended family, so involving DC is going to be really important

Got some little bits like the odd pack of vests & wipes when we found out. started to get a bit more after the 12wk scan & the big things after 20wk scan.

25wk tomorrow & got almost everything except the car seat (went a bit crazy in the sales )
