Hi everyone,
I'm just over 8 weeks gone and the joy of finding out I was expecting has been overshadowed by feeling totally out of it for the last 2 weeks. I feel nauseous pretty much 24/7 and so tired all the time, I barely do anything these days.... Just work, try to eat and sleep. I know I signed up for this and it's all to be expected but I guess I'm looking for people going through the same thing who might have tips or just offer another perspective. Please tell me I will feel human again soon!
The dr has seen me and we paid for a private early scan, so all is healthy. I just need a bit of moral support from people in the know!

:) thanks Sam

Aw sam, I really feel for you.

I'm 9 weeks tomorrow and feel so, so rough 24/7. I've been in floods of tears as I just don't know what to do with myself.

My appetite has gone, every smell makes me worse and I keep getting light headed. Dreading work this week :(

Fingers crossed it passes soon and we can all enjoy being pregnant. I feel terrible guilty moaning as this is a much wanted baby.

SSSMITH87 · 22/01/2015 18:11

I'm the same. I feel guilty for not enjoying these exciting first few weeks, as this baby was something we both wanted so much. I'm 9 weeks and 2 days today and praying that I get my 'glow' ASAP, e.g. At 10 weeks. Time just seems to go so slow. Yet, I know when our baby is here, time will just fly by. I am so grateful that I am fortunate enough to get pregnant without issues, but this is not how I imagined feeling ALL DAY! Lol.
Smells are definitely on my radar a lot more this week, I can't empty the bin now, as it makes me gag. The smell of wet washing also makes me gag....random, as I never noticed it had a smell prior to pregnancy.
I am getting more excited now though, looking at baby items, which helps remind me of why I am feeling like this and the whole purpose.
Hope we can be the lucky few who don't feel ill for long .... Fingers crossed.

Another thing praying on my mind is if this feeling ever does go away... Which I pray and hope it does ASAP. How do you feel after birth.... Do you feel sick/nauseous? Or is it just tired and achy.
I miss eating and feeling normal. I can deal with tired and achy.

Yes I've been there and ended up in hospital because of the vomiting. I hate when people suggest vomiting makes you feel better....it doesn't. I ended up with a bucket as my best friend as I was so ill I couldn't get to the toilet. Was sick several times and hour.

I'm now in the third trimester and it is so much more pleasant although I am still heavily medicated. First trimester I was in bed for weeks and weeks and signed off work for a long time. Go and see your doctor, get signed off, sleep through it. Tiredness makes the nausea worse! You also need to admit to people how bad you are and be really clear how awful you are feeling. I told work at 8 weeks because I had to.

The following things made me sick so you aren't abnormal: TV, bin, fridge, books, turning over in bed, deodorant and perfume smells, hand soap, cooking smells....endless and horrific...

BentleyBelly · 26/01/2015 14:28

Have you tired eating oranges...big fat juicy ones? Only thing that helped me in the early weeks, I remember it vividly, you have my complete sympathy. If it helps, I felt relatively normal again by 12 weeks x

I feel rough all the time. Not really morning sickness but as I go through my day hunger suddenly his and if I don't eat something I feel really really nauseous. And the tiredness! This of my fourth pregnancy and I have three other children to run around after when all I want to do is lie in bed all day. One day you will suddenly notice it is gone and you feel yourself again.

yummymango · 26/01/2015 15:06

Hi, yep going through the same. I have felt dreadful this time. 9 weeks tomorrow and have really struggled to drag myself to work and the rest of the time I have been in bed or on the sofa, drifting in and out of sleep and trying not to vomit. I have been miserable, grumpy and at times wished I hadn't forgotten what it was like the first time (although I swear it wasn't as bad as this). Hopefully we should only have a couple more weeks of this to endure until we are bouncing around full of energy and glowing skin and hair (although that seemed to pass me by the first time too!). Hope you all start to feel better soon.

Jackieharris · 26/01/2015 15:20

This is my 3rd pregnancy and I'm finding it much tougher this time.

I'm so flipping tired! I went for a hours walk earlier and I was bloody exhausted after it. My BMI is 31 though and I'd lost a stone before Xmas so I want to carry on trying to exercise and eating healthily but it's hard when I have no energy! I've not put on any weight but I feel heavy.

Also food wise my stomach does feel 'off' most of the time which isn't helping.

I've never experience pregnancy as illness before so this is all quite a shock.

mrshjb · 27/01/2015 03:47

I got signed off work for 2 weeks at 8 weeks pregnant because I felt so unbelievably crap. I felt better from 13 weeks onwards and the rest of my pregnancy wasn't as bad as the start. I wouldn't say I ever felt exactly good and it definitely went right downhill again towards the end but the first trimester really is difficult. Just lie around and do nothing but eat what you can face until you feel semi human again!

SSSMITH87 · 01/02/2015 08:43

You are all great and it's so helpful to know others feel the same and I am not alone. I hope some of you are beginning to feel better.
My other half has gone away with work for 2 weeks today which has crushed me, as he was my rock and I will feel so lost without him. I am just so tired of feeling so ill, it's actually making me pretty depressed and sad, at a time when I thought I would be overjoyed and full of life. It feels never ending. I am coming up to 11 weeks, so I'm praying it's soon going to stop.

I found myself at about 8-9 weeks with a very much wanted pregnancy almost wishing I wasn't pregnant I felt so awful... and then felt terrible for thinking that. Three or so weeks later I felt like a new person, more energy, no nausea, almost didn't feel pregnant. It will pass! In the meantime laze around, sleep as much as you can, eat what you can face and get people who aren't busy growing a human to look after you.

SSSMITH87 · 01/02/2015 20:02

I'm so worried I'm getting depressed with all this. I'm so tired emotionally of feeling this way and now without my other half I just feel so alone with it all. I want this baby but I want to just hibernate for the next 3-4 weeks til I feel human and have more fight in me.
Thanks it's good to know it does get better. I am still waiting.

SSSMITH87 · 03/02/2015 16:20

Melissa 6 weeks is still really early, I remember my sickness and sensitivity to smells coming and going that early. Some days I would still feel normal. Now at 11 weeks it's constant. Try not to worry, I know it's hard, I worried all the time and still do. About every little thing.
Unfortunately what will be will be, all we can do is keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best.
Keep us updated.
