Kidney Infection - when to push for more treatment?

I've currently got a kidney infection. Midwife picked up quite a bit of blood in my urine last week and I got the call on Friday to go and get antibiotics. Only issue was that I'd been on antibiotics that week for a mouth infection -yes I'm aware I'm sadly falling apart.

So I'm now on day 4 of them and still feel like a mule has kicked me in the back. Called the duty doctor this afternoon who's asked me to go back in tomorrow morning but the more I read (I know, I know...) the more I'm worried about it not clearing and going into early labour. I know in these circumstances they quite often have women going into hospital for an IV to knock it on it's head but I'm not sure whether to bring that up with the doctor tomorrow? With a toddler it would certainly be awkward to do an overnight in triage but DP would move things around at work to make it happen. I just don't want the doc thinking I'm a crazy lady who's going overboard...

Thanks. Oh and I'm 30 weeks - not sure if that makes a difference?

I would push to be seen sooner. I had the same at29 weeks with DD1 and it was dreadful. The pain got so bad I ended up hospitalised and on pethidine for a couple of days until the antibiotics got it under control. I had a lot of monitoring too as they were concerned about labour starting, but thankfully it didn't. Good luck, hope you feel better soon.

Thanks MissMidden I have an appointment at lunchtime and will hopefully get some advice. I feel a bit better but not 'five days of antibiotics' better...
