I swear I currently have about three pairs of knickers I can wear without losing the plot - and they are all big. I went to Primark and bought some pants that looked like they would be comfortable. But they're not

I have a thrush situation that means I'm sore, so my thongs are antagonising that, plus I feel huge and non sexy so I feel like big pants are the answer. I'm only in my first trimester so I think a lot of my perceived largeness is bloat at the moment but I probably did put on some Christmas weight.

Thanks

I find all I can wear are leggings im sick of wearing the same thing hehe but are comfortable and dont ride up over the bump ones fab xx

I'm sorry but the title did make me laugh!

As a fellow thong wearer I had a stern talking to from my mum (in the middle of Mothercare of all places) about how I need to start thinking about switching to something slightly bigger to support the bump.

I have bought a pack of cotton thongs in one size larger than normal and they seem to be doing the trick. M&S do a pretty good multi pack. Oh, I did find a maternity thong which despite looking ridiculous/hideous actually goes over the bump so will be good for later months.

I do sympathise as I generally find that most underwear tends to ride. My only suggestion would be boy shorts in one size bigger.

I wore/am wearing sainsbury's pack of five high leg briefs. I got them a size larger than I normally am. They are really comfy and cheap. Definitely don't ride up the crack.

OhMjh · 14/01/2015 10:05

Sainsburys here too! I bulk bought the full briefs and wore them for a few weeks postpartum too! Very comfy, cheap, don't ride up! They also do great granny pants as well as the slightly less obscene high leg ones. They'd work well if you ended up with a c section too as they come over your belly button

I've been a thong wearer in the past but in recent years have favoured drawers which cover my whole arse without giving me hungry bum syndrome and I love cotton shorts or shorties... Look hideous on the hanger but fine on your body and no wedgiesGrinGood luck and may the butt Gods be with you!

wawabear · 14/01/2015 10:30

Sainsburys full briefs here too - in crazy large size that could pass as tents but they're WONDERFUL! They come up past my belly button, very gentle elastic and do not ride up arse. I think they are £6 for 4 pairs. Bargain.

luckiestgirlintheworld · 14/01/2015 11:35

Asda (or any supermarket) briefs- the ones you buy in 'packs of 5' or whatever. Buy them massive. They're the best.

sebsmummy1 · 14/01/2015 11:44

PMSL, 'hungry bum syndrome' is excellent Grin. Just realised I may have confused our American members by saying 'pants', not briefs.

Aaaaah, the days when a G-string was comfy. Ok full briefs from Sainsburys seem to be getting the thumbs up so I shall try those. Also won't be so expensive if they don't suit - so annoying that if new pants turn out to be uncomfortable then there is nothing you can do. I have bags of 'worn once' undies that I bought when I was thin, maybe I should start a craft project

Right, the other week I went out and got myself some MASSIVE knickers (like three sizes bigger than my pre-preg size) from BHS, they're full briefs so come half way up my 37 week bump, they still have some growing room and they're in a mix of navy/berry colours so that they will be great for post baby days too. 5 pairs for £7!

TheScenicRoute · 14/01/2015 19:59

I have bought about a thousand pairs, all massive, 2-3 sizes bigger than pre preg. NONE of them are comfortable. I hate my knickers!!!

Luciferbox · 14/01/2015 20:15

On the advice of another thread like this I recently purchased some Sainsburys knickers and I'm very impressed. No movement and they sit on my bump lovely.

hippymama1 · 14/01/2015 20:17

If all else fails, I wear DHs trunks. The older ones with the more 'forgiving' elastic WinkI'm not proud of it but a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do. Just beware the visible boxers line.

John Lewis full briefs in a much bigger size - very comfy!

sleepybee · 14/01/2015 22:01

I wear M&S no vpl shorts as they are thin & have no seams that dig in I've bought ones 2 & 3 sizes bigger they hang off me

RevoltingPeasant · 14/01/2015 22:27

I wear M&S shorts off the mix n match rack. Soooo comfy! Also cheap.

angryangryyoungwoman · 14/01/2015 22:39

I found Asda plain white multi pack white big pants for about 3/4 quid for 3 were the best, better, more comfortable than the maternity pants I bought from John Lewis
