I just found out this weekend that am pg, but feel a bit like I'm on my period. My uterus is feeling really achy, especially when I stand, and it's making me feel a bit queasy, is this normal?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Congratulations
It is probably just the changes in your body, thanks to all those pregnancy hormones.

lulumama · 16/10/2006 21:03

i had it too....hope all goes well...queasy is good...means you're producing all the right hormones...

Am on 3rd pg at the mo and always have period type pains for weeks. Im 12+3 at mo and still getting them occasionally. With first pg i didnt do test till i was over a week late just cos i thought the pains were period pains and i must be about to come on any day

bumperlicious · 17/10/2006 21:45

The pains were so bad that they woke me up in the middle of the night last night and I just couldn't get comfortable. Not sharp really painful pains, but a very uncomfortable ache, like a troupe of scouts are hiking up your uterus with crampons! Hope it's ok, I mean they feel like familar pains, if that makes sense? I just didn't expect it during pregnancy. Another one of those thing they don't tell you!

Yes, I had these. Early pregnancy can feel EXACTLY like starting a period, and I think women should be warned.

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy

HumphreysCoroner · 18/10/2006 10:37

Yes, I had this and spent ages and ages trawling through the MN threads and found it is completely normal. I had the pains until approx 8 weeks maybe 9 weeks and sometimes they doubled me up in pain. I was just paranoid after having a MC previously. Like pesha I didn't do a PG test with DD1 until about 9 days late but with DD2 I did one 3 days before AF due so a lot more paranoia time.

Relax and enjoy your pregnancy.

i was due on yesterday but obviously havent come on, even tho i am experiencing very dull, low achy ains in tummy and back, it really feels like i am about to come on, as they come and go all day and this had been happing for about 6 or 7 days!!
i feel a bit more reasured now i know everyone else is having these pains too!
i just didnt have any of this on my first child!
also, could the uterus be stretching allready - i could only be about 4 weeks pg!
