I am 18 weeks pregnant today and at 6am I woke to a very wet feeling in between my legs.... I went to the toilet and had what seemed to be the longest wee ever and noticed that my pj bottoms were literally soaked, all the inner thigh to my knee.... I really don't know what this could be, I smelt the wet patch but it didnt smell of anything at all. Could any one take a guess as to what this could be. I haven't really felt my little one move yet, this is my 3rd baby so I am hoping it will be anytime. I have felt the odd flutter but nothing lately. I last heard the heartbeat about 2 weeks ago. Now, I am a prone worrier. I don't have any medical appointments until the end of the month which is my 20 week scan, I will be 21 weeks by this point. Should I contact my midwife or should I just wait. It can't be waters breaking at this point could it. I hope not as this could only mean fatality

Hi just to reiterate it is v difficult to tell at this gestation by speculum whether waters have gone. Please keep an eye on your health and any unusual discharge, hightemp etc then request a scan. I developed a serious infection when this happened to me and the delay in getting staff to recognise this resulted in serious illness and lengthy hospital stay.
