Just increase fibre and if it becomes unbearable your gp can prescribe something to relieve you.

Progesterone causes the intestines to slow down (they are smooth muscle and it relaxes smooth muscle.

Kiwi fruit are very good. 2 a day will shift anything, and without explosions :D

You need soluble fibre - the bran sort will just dry out in the slow intestines and add to the problem. That is oats, pulses, fruit, veg. And plenty of water - don't let yourself get thirsty.

A morning coffee (stimulant) might help with a good breakfast (this also stimulates peristalsis), to start things off each morning.

Glycerine suppositories get the hard stuff out if you are a bit bunged.

Yep, progesterone is a killer. I get it so badly I have Movicol on prescription.

I agree that bran-type fibre just makes things worse, so avoid that. And see your GP if natural remedies don't work. Prescriptions are free after all!
