Hi

I am 16 weeks pregnant this week and for the past few days I had what started out as stitch like pain very low in my abdomen, which has now moved up to mid abdomen and sides.
Is this normal?

Most probably round ligament pain, mine started getting worse around 15 weeks. It can either be sharp stabby or dull achey - I've had both! My MW said the ligaments go all around your uterus, so it could be that. Or digestive issues. If it carries on continuously for more than a day, I'd be calling the MW just to be sure.

ok, this is day 4 so will give my MW a call
Suspected growth pains but wasnt sure as its been continuous for a few days

I had this over Christmas and had got myself in to a bit of state. I can only describe it as a constant stitch and I was having trouble walking. Midwife said it was most likely baby on a nerve or something. It disappeared after 4 days. I hope you get some reassurance.

I have had quite bad ligament pain since around 12 weeks! Feels like a stitch and if I sneeze or move to fast it can be really painful!!! But Def speak to the MW if worried!! Wish you all the best x

Thanks everyone. Called the MW and she thinks I might have pulled a muscle. Nothing they can do for it except recommend I take paracetamol every 4 hours. I am seeing her on Friday for my 16 week app anyway so will see if its not better by then.
