Experience of extended breech

Hi all,

I am having a scan tomorrow which was initially to check the position of the placenta as it was low lying at 20 weeks (am now 36 weeks).
However due to reduced movement I have had a couple of extra scans which showed baby was breech. I thought nothing of it until I read my notes and saw extended breech - I'd never heard of this and googled it! Well now i am worried!
Has anyone experienced this?

The same happened to me becca I was furious they said they would ring me if they got a space before then but I went in to labour the following day at 37+5, if you think at any time you might be in labour ring up they told me to say my baby is breech and I think I'm in labour it's important to stress baby is breech. I only had a couple of niggles they told me it was braxton hicks and were going to send me home I put my foot down and when they checked I was 5cm and went for a section an hour later.

Don't worry. 95% of babies are born after their due date. However if you do think labour is starting, get in touch with hospital straight away.
Good luck.

I just can't believe that that was the next available date. I'm kind of ok with it as if I was booked in the week before there's nothing to say I wouldn't go into labour before that date but my oh is furious. I think he's worried it will end up being an emergency and chaotic (he's a worrier at the best of times). I also think he was getting excited to meet him sooner rather than later but I tried to say to him if the baby wasn't breech they would let you go up to 2 weeks over due so would be even longer. There's no risk that I know of to the baby to keep him in until I'm 40 weeks as that's what he should be in for anyway

My section was classed as a cat 2 emergency because her foot was there ha but honestly it was so calm and lovely so tell your oh not to worry yes it happened quickly from examination to being in theatre but it was an amazing experience :)
