HELP!!! high hcg levels after mc...

Hi, I had a missed mc and d&c 6 weeks ago and have just had a bfp.
i rang the epu and they have suggested that it is hormones left over from the previous pregnancy. anyone else had this or are they making it up?!! i thought i had just fallen again straight away, but now i am doubting myself... help.......

Joseyjo, both are possible....though usually with a d&c the hcg levels drop very fast afterwards, so if its a very strong bfp I'd be surprised if it was that.

I've had several missed m/cs, and the only one with hcg that dragged on for weeks was a 'natural' one wihtout d&c.

That said, tests are very sensitive these days so..the only way to know fast, for sure, would be to have blood or urine hcg tested by a lab to get exact readings, then re-do two days later to see if they're doubling or dropping. You can get this done privately (loads of places do it in London, am sure there are lots that do outside London too) but the NHS won't, I'm almost sure.

thanks for that. i am waiting for the epu to get back to me about a blood test that they might want me to have so maybe it is that one. not very good at waiting!!!
