Where to buy baby clothes?

Hey I'm a first timer, no young kids in my family etc & I'm starting to buy some bits for when baby arrives in May. I know I don't need to buy tons of clothes. But everywhere I look I really don't find many of the clothes appealing. I not keen on things with ears attached. We are team yellow so needs to be gender neutral for now. I'm in the uk I've looked at debenhams, M&S, mother care, tesco, mamas&papas, monsoon, John Lewis. I've only bought 2 sleep suits from M&S.

Any recommendations for baby clothes stores even online only?

Also Carter's from TK Maxx has really lovely sets, I got tops with footed leggings and footless rompers from there which all washed very well.

I got loads from next, tho I did get a hat with 1 of the packs of sleep suits that does have ears, doesn't bother me tho I probs wouldn't use the hat just loved the sleep suits, if your really struggling with neutral stuff just it plain white/cream to get you past 1st few days then go get pink/blue or whatever colour catches your eye Smile

I like the White babygrows and vests from John Lewis

Then I look for nice quality hats/ booties/ cardigans.

  • not on the high street
  • Cambridge baby
  • disana
  • lana bambini
  • petite bateau
  • Brora

And old people love to knit and crochet. I brought some lovely cashmere baby wool and various relatives and friends knitted hat and bootie sets for me in various sizes from newborn to 6 months. Plus a couple of blankets. The wool cost about £50, to make x8 hat and bootie sets and x3 blankets.

I like next, their baby clothes are lovely and soft, as well as George at Asda.

It depends what you want to spend. I personally don't see the point spending a fortune on baby clothes because they grow so quick so I've shopped at Boots (they have a 3 for 2 offer) and George (Asda) which are generally really lovely :)

I like Asda, lots of nice patterns. M&S does good basics too.
