I had waht i think was a show 2 weeks ago and today went to the toilet and had bright red bleeding when i wiped, i put a pad on and it soaked through it, its not snot like it more like proper runny blood. it has slowed now but still slightly bleeding. i called labour ward and they said it was ok and to monitor it?!?!?!?!

Anyone else have this?

only when I was in labour - I was 2cm then apparently it was cos I'd gone from zero to 2cm really quickly and actually got to 4 cm in about 2.5 hours. so it was too quick for my body or something?? how long have you been bleeding? is/has it been particually heavy?

MKG · 15/10/2006 21:00

I haven't had this but if I were you I would call again and see if they can see you.

Munz · 15/10/2006 21:00

i had a bright red bleed 4 days before my ds was born by elective c/s. As it was I was in hospital having my final checks and meeting the team. My consultant said it was ok but if it carried on over the weekend or I went into labout I was to call him and he would operate straight away. Dont be scared to contact them again if you're worried (or your midwife) and good luck

Munz · 15/10/2006 21:11

tbh I went to hospital the minute I saw the blood - mainly cos it was bright red and really heavy, I think i'd go get it checked out/get the m/w out just to be on the safe side

lulumama · 15/10/2006 21:11

then i think it is ok - i had bleeding on and off throughout pregnancy - some women just seem to carry that way

the show is often bloody, so even though you had a show, i thikn the blood loss is ok...esp if slowing and not gushing...

is baby moving as much as you would expect at this late stage ?

if so, then try not to panic...

mmmmchocolate · 15/10/2006 21:16

baby moving fine. i am reluctant to go tonight as have 2 year old dd and would have to get grand parents over to baby sit. is that selfish? i have midwife app tomorrow at 12 so will see her then. if bleeding increases or i am still bleeding in night (when i get up for my many wees) i will def call them again. got tummy ache now think i need a poo though was hoping it may be start of things.. was induced with dd.

I had this 8 days overdue with dd1 ,had bled on/off throughout the pregnancy ,and then out of the blue i started bleeding and enough fot it to run down the loo,dp had to phone for an ambulance as the birth unit wouldn't take me .Everyone suggested that it was a show ,yeah right -had that 2 weeks before and a show aint like that!.Four years later when pregnant with dd2 i finally got to discuss this with the consultant who said that sometimes if you dilate too quickly then it can rupture blood vessels in the cervix.

MerlinsBeard · 15/10/2006 21:20

could be the start of things

lulumama · 15/10/2006 21:20

poo definitely good sign

body having a natural clear out ready for birth

i hope LO arrives soon......but if concerned , get it checked out, better to be sent home and be overcautious,...

think baby is a-coming!

I had a bleed about 1-2 days before I had my c/s, Not sure if it was brought on by my internal though?! Should be soon now I would think! Have fun!

Ooops, sorry about the repeats!

fussymummy · 15/10/2006 22:50

Poo is good!!!

I thought i was pooing for England before i had each of my children.

Body clearing out ready for delivery.

I'd be really worried about that much blood.

Bled on and off with my last one, and had to be checked at hospital each time.

Also, had to have anti-D as i'm rhesus neg.

One time it happened it was an icy night and my partner was in hospital.

Midwife told me i needed to find someone to care for my other 2 children and get a lift to hospital.

She said i was not to drive, while bleeding in pregnancy.

Definately call labour ward to be checked again.

Munz · 16/10/2006 09:54

mmmmchocolate · 16/10/2006 20:38
