Cheap tests, can they be wrong? Panicking

I know I know, I'm a grown adult and should have known better! Please don't shout at me!

We have 2 small children, dh has had the snip but not had the all clear yet ( 2 months ago) and I haven't had a period since September ( PCOS, trouble conceiving the first time, took a year and a half the second time ), all that plus a bit of Christmas wine... You get the picture.

Had a bit of boob tenderness the last few weeks, so got some tests- 3 for £1 kind from a cheap shops- the ones I've always used in the past. The control line is fine, but where the test line should be is a faint pink blob- not a line as such. Can this be a faulty test? Or an artefact of some kind?

It wouldn't be the end of the world if I was pregnant, but pretty inconvenient, and abortion is not an option for me. Not told dh yet, he will be upset ( I know I know I know)

Somebody talk to me please

Did you tell your husband? If you were confused and disappointed it might be that deep down you would actually like another child even if it's inconvenient, I know he's had the snip but it can sometimes be reversed.

Don't go through it on your own, it may be that you simply need reassuring why the decision was made in the first place.x

I had two negative tesco own brand tests and then the following morning bought a clear blue digital and was 2+ weeks pregnant. I knew I didn't trust the cheap ones, I felt pregnant which is why I went and bought a different brand. That was only a few days late for period. Def re-test!!!

Yes, looks like a pretty positive positive. Congrats xx

Thank you all for your messages- I retested this morning and definitely a negative, I thought that first test looked weird. I didn't post a picture though- not sure where it is?

I am a tiny bit disappointed but deep down I know it's the right decision. With 2 under 4, PND in the past, a house to run and a full time job, even potentially a career, it would be more than an inconvenience, but a really difficult situation. Childcare fees alone would bankrupt us. I am only just starting to look and feel normal. Also, dh does not want any more, so it would not be fair of me to force him.

I did tell him I reserve the right to get kittens if I get broody in the future :D
