Crampy period pains

I'm about 5-6 weeks pregnant and keep getting crampy period pains (they can be quite strong at times) and lower back ache. Also peeing for team GB! No bleeding thankfully, but can these crampy pains be normal given they can be quite strong?xxx

Yes, totally normal. I remember the peeing too, first symptom for me both times.Smile

Thanks stille ... Dread to think what labour will be like if this is painful!

I think its quite normal, try not to worry, Its probably a bit of stretching and things!

A quick google reveals;

Your Body – 5 Weeks Pregnant

The tenderness in your breasts and nipples may increase. This is also the week that you may notice some mild stomach cramps and backache.

Try and relax Smile

I'm also 5-6 weeks. I've had the lower back ache almost constantly for the past two weeks and random period like cramps. The last few nights these have been really painful and woken me up. From what I've been reading, I think as long as you don't get bleeding, pretty much anything and everything is considered normal Smile

I had these quite strong in the early weeks, even woke me in the night sometimes. Still experience mild cramp-like stretching every now and again and I'm 24+5 now!

Totally normal, it's surprising how painful it can be in the early weeks, at times my abdomen felt bruised.

BlinkAndMiss · 06/01/2015 16:44

Totally normal, I found drinking plenty helped to ease them as I seemed to get them when I was dehydrated.

I had such bad pains that GP sent me for an early pregnancy scan at hospital. Turns out I was having twins, apparently more pain due to womb stretching. Talk about a shock! Good luck.

Tranquilitybaby · 06/01/2015 16:58

Yes totally normal. I still get it on and off at 16 weeks.

Thanks guys... Hate the feeling of wanting to go to loo every 5 mins to check I'm not bleeding :(

Oh butterfly I am a regular panty checker. The excess CM worries me and I am constantly running to the loo to check whether it it blood!
I had back pain at 5 weeks and I also still get cramps now (I'm 20 weeks) so it is normal :)
