Hi ladies,

Just found out am pg and just joined MN. We were planning on going to Iceland in January/February, and part of the draw for me are the geothermal baths that they have, which are pools which are naturally heated to about 36-39C. I will be 4/5 months by then. Do you thing they are safe to use during pregnancy?

I went to the blue lagoon at 5/6 months pregnant and agonised about going in or not. I asked Gps, consultants etc and they said it was ok if they were same as baths but not if hotter. They said the same thing in Iceland too. So I avoided a particulalry hot area and the rest was just like a warm bath. My baby was fine.

Thanks Alex, just spoke to the doctor and she seemed to think it was fine. But I expect DH is going to say NO! I guess you never know and is worth the risk? Anyone else any opions on the subject so I can convince my DH?!

I went in a geothermal pool in Germany while I was six months pregnant. It was lovely. That was my last chance for a long time as that pool doesn't allow children under six years. I really think you should go to Iceland and enjoy it.
