Currently 9wks pregnant and feel just bloody awful. Its a long awaiting, much hoped for pregnancy so I know I should feel grateful. But all I feel is exhausted and nauseous. I have lost all enthusiasm for anything at all, and have been ill on top. Keep crying. Back to work Monday (where no one yet knows) and just wondering how the he'll I will manage 12hrs a day out of the house 5 days a week.

I know I know I'm pregnant, its not an illness etc. I just feel awful and keep crying. So pathetic!

Please please resale me with tales of how it all gets better soon.

As others have said, I think this is a real low point. Take it easy - it's worse if you're overdoing it. If you end up taking a days sick leave this week and just sleeping the world really won't stop turning. I'm not a malingerer by any means but I think it's possible to be too hard on yourself in pregnancy. Listen to your body.

Re your mum and her pregnancy - people forget. Expect later to hear how you slept through from 2 minutes old and were potty trained from 8 weeks Grin

Thank out all so much for your lovely responses. I don't feel quite so pathetic now. Have worked out that I get worse as the day goes on, start off quite chipper and not sick, but by early afternoon i feel awful and by evening I am just not functioning. I will try to manage it better and not do too much. I'm not good at 'resting' but will have to learn for my own sanity i think!

Letit, I was exactly the same, felt fine in the morning but from about 2ish it was all downhill! I felt utterly rotten and would go straight to bed when I got in from work!

R&R is what you need, find a good box set or something to keep you occupied until you feel more normal again Smile

Another one here agreeing that early pregnancy is vile! Your body is going through so much. I think the worst things were-that awful mouth taste, nausea and tiredness to the point I could cry! Look after yourself and rest. The nausea was worse with fatigue. I found that anything fruity (ice lollies, sorbet, elderflower fizz, fruit sweets) helped the nausea and cheered me up!
My nausea lasted till about 17w. I'm 27w now and feel ok.

I felt awful until about 11 weeks OP, not saying that it was instant, but it definitely felt like the 'fog' was lifting. My worst symptom was the fatigue, which sounds daft, I mean, how can being tired make you feel ill, but it really was dreadful, I took no pleasure in anything at all. My nausea was rubbish, but not as bad, I just had zero appetite.
I'm 18 weeks now and in spite of feeling like I'd never be hungry again not so ling ago, cannot stop eating. And I can stay up past 10pm without wanting to die at my desk the next day :) x
