11 Days Late & Negative Pregnancy Test HELP!!

Beckahjane · 31/12/2014 07:46

Hi all,
I came off contraception in August and downloaded myself an ovulation calculator to keep track of my periods etc.. Had a small spotting when I came off the pill then have had a period EVERY month there after (sometimes small spotting between) my last period was 27th November lasting 6 days.. I am now day 35 in my cycle.. I have done a few tests (1, 2 days prior to period due date, 1 Xmas Day & 1 Sunday) and all are negative..
I am day 11 today of no period..
I am NOT stressed or Ill otherwise I would have put it down to that.

Could I be pregnant?!!
HELP

Just to note also I already have a 3 year old son so I know the feeling of being pregnant although I never found out I was pregnant with him until I was 8 weeks.

I have taken cheap tests :
Tesco own & Clear Response (Asda cheapie)
Not sure on their MIU as doesn't say anywhere but did order myself some 10MIU test strips the other day off eBay so I am hoping they arrive today as don't fancy drinking the night away with the possibility of a pregnancy.

Hi there, I would say you are not pregnant yet, but that is not to say you haven't just implanted or aren't ovulating.

Periods can be late for any number of reason and unfortunately the symptoms can be hard to define between pre-period and pre-pregnancy.

I would wait 3 days and test again, first pee of the day with a First Response.

If negative, see your GP.

Sorry not to be of much else help, but I know exactly how you feel, especially if you really want a baby you can spot every symptom going.

Best of luck x

dorasee · 31/12/2014 10:37

Try First Response. It is the best test out there and worth the money. Otherwise you will get yourself in a frazz. My guess is you'll have a period and you're not pregnant.
Try not to get too stressed. That way if you're not pregnant, you won't feel too disappointed and let down.

I can't tell you the number of times I had a late period and had loads of symptoms, convincing myself I was pregnant, only to have AF show up on day 40. And it always bummed me out. Whenever I've been pregnant, I haven't had the symptoms apart from sore boobs and a need for greasy food! I am very regular, like clockwork, but we all have our 'off' cycle and this is probably the case for you. Sad. But do take the advice above, test again in about 3 days and seriously, pay the money for a First Response. I always do. I never waste my time on anything else because of all the POAS tests it is, in my opinion, the most 'definitive'. If it's negative, you're almost definitely not pregnant. If it's positive, even faint, well then there's your happy news. Don't despair, that positive will come.

Have you used Clear Blue's digital ovulation kit? I found these really useful. Good luck!

Beckahjane · 31/12/2014 13:32

I am not stressing about it. Would be lucky if I was pregnant and we aren't intentially nor are we not intentially trying for a baby. The last time I came off the pill I conceiver my son.
I am weeing little and often so maybe my wee isn't very strong.
Haven't used ovulation kit as like I said we are kind of just waiting for a surprise really.
I just know that right now I'm having symptoms very unrelated to period symptoms as I'm the same every month leading up to a period.
My tests have come of the 10 MIU but fear they won't work until at room temperature as its freezing outside and they've been at a postal depot.
Will try in the morning or in another few days.

Had several negative tests at four to eight weeks. I felt pregnant do couldn't let it go. I also had some bleeding. As it happened, it was a twin pregnancy and I subsequently miscarried one. Surviving baby was very healthy.

Tranquilitybaby · 04/01/2015 08:26

I'd see your doctor. It's very unlikely your pregnant I'd say but perhaps youcan have a blood test done to test hcg.

Beckahjane · 05/01/2015 21:41

Just an update, been to doctors today as started bleeding with lots of other bad signs.. Found out I was having a miscarriage :( better luck next time hey.

Hi all back again.. So things have been extremely weird recently.. Here we go
So 5 weeks on from my 'miscarriage' and I am now 10 days late on my next period. Surprise surprise seems the whole same scenario again..
Instead.. a few days after I was told I was having the miscarriage, the pregnancy symptoms were increasing and guess what?? THEY HAVEN'T STOPPED!
My tummy has grown, breasts larger and super sensitive, nausea, change in foods/smells, increased urination, heart burn.. you name it i've probably already had it or currently got it.
I went back to the doctors on Wed 21st, had urine sample and bloods done.. Everything came back negative (normal, no action)
Been back today and the doctors are actually starting to take me seriously, I am back again in 2 weeks to go for further blood tests to test for pretty much anything and everything..
Like I say I am again late on my period..
My miscarriage bleed however is one that is shocking my doctors, I was informed from the doctor who diagnosed it that it would be a heavy and no doubt more painful bleed than a regular period.. infact, it was quite the opposite!! Strange..
I really don't know what more I can do as its confusing..
Just to state I AM NOT STRESSED OR ILL!!
I am getting on with daily life pretty fine despite the nausea on a morning, bleughh :(
Really don't know what else can be done right now, but just thought I would let you all know my strange experience..
Has this happened to anyone else?? Or has anyone any help/advice/opinions on the situation?

HELP!!

Could you afford to pay to go for a private scan to put your mind at ease? They are about £60 in my area

ambientolf · 04/02/2015 21:22

I took 3 home tests all negative then went to the doctors who did urine test/blood tests (I thought I had missed my period due to stress/weight gain!!) ... It can happen!

MrsG23 · 04/02/2015 21:28

Beck! I remember you from a month ago when I was stressing! Eventually came on my period at 38 days!
I'm so sorry this turned out to be a miscarriage! But my god... What a complete mind f**k your body at present..
Fingers crossed they find out what is going on!?
I'm now cycle day 32 after having unprotected sex over my ovulation period. Typical!
X

Beckahjane · 05/02/2015 20:12

Unfortunately today guys I think I am actually having my miscarriage.. I have had severe pain for the last hour and keep passing large clots! :/ not really how I expected things to pan out right before I go on holiday.. I am keeping an eye on things and stomach isn't exactly going down and all symptoms still intact but it's horrendous right now. I really wish I knew what was going on x

OP posts:
BitchBags · 05/02/2015 22:05

Oh no :( if you are in severe pain would it be worth going to a&e? Flowers

CakeInMyFace · 05/02/2015 22:14

Could this be an ectopic? I have read you may not always test positive with ectopics and with severe pain and bleeding you should get to a&e now.

Beckahjane · 05/02/2015 22:23

I'm keeping an eye on everything tonight and seeing if anything changes, if need be I'll request a call from duty doctor and discuss the situation. They haven't particularly been the most helpful recently.

Beckahjane · 05/02/2015 22:45

Maybe sounds weird.. But there's an annoying pain on left side, but a moving feeling on my right.. I feel sick and my emotions are all over the place, one second I'm crying the next im fine, angry etc etc. feel pretty weak to be honest so going to try and get some sleep. Will be lining underneath me as have a feeling I'm going to flood everywhere :(
