I've been wearing spanx at work today, had a doughnut earlier and it wouldn't go down

It's so good to see it on the screen, I waited about an hour for my scan, had a painfully full bladder so I went and let a bit out, saved enough for scan, proud of pelvic floor muscles!

Previously sonographer noted that I was from fertility, said, fertility ladies usually start taking their pants off as soon as they get in!

Bushy whoop whoop! What great news for the weekend Grin

Yeah I used M&S elasticated waist linen trousers for work - black - but that was in summer. Might be too chilly now. Next door decent maternity trousers that have a sort of internal notched belt so you can make them tighter and looser. I would invest in some of those as they are smart enough for work and will last the duration, size-wise.

Don't spanx get uncomfy? I remember feeling really bloated and tender at that stage.

feather yes I have had 1-2 days with nausea but nothing serious. Poor you, it's miserable :(

So last night we went to an NCT home birth group. It was amazing! Three women with HB babies came back to share stories. They (babies not women) were so, so tiny and lovely. One was only 6 days old. It was great, as two women had had HBs but one had to be induced and so we got that story too. There was also a dad talking about setting up the birth pool which was helpful for DH. My own MW was there along with the student MW who originally did my booking in appt way back in week 8, so it was lovely to see familiar faces :)

I went for a swim this morning and could only manage 900m of crawl before flaking. I felt great afterwards but have been soooo tired all day I am only at work in a nominal sense, answering emails and doing bits.

36+4 today Shock -- Term on Monday - !!

RevoltingPeasant · 09/01/2015 15:05

Next do* decent maternity trousers, even.

greatbigbushybeard · 09/01/2015 15:39

Thanks rp I will schedule in a trip to next tomorrow. Linen trousers will be great in summer. Just got off phone to my friend who's nearly 20 weeks & she said h&m good for work clothes & matalan for maternity leggings. I can't remember whether you need the card for matalan anymore or not.

Did you ladies buy up a size in underwear or buy maternity? I think I may need some more comfy pants. I can imagine so and would cut in like hell! Bra wise my boobs have definitely got bigger but think I can get away with my looser bras.

My friend made me feel better about not getting the nuchal done as she said her baby was really misbehaving so they couldn't get a reading either.

Thanks for the hair band tip lady might give it a go.

lentil go you with your Iron Lady pelvic floor!! I really need to do my exercises. Let's be honest here, how many of you are actually doing them? If you are, what helps you to remember to do them? I thought maybe do before or after meals as that would be 3 times a day.

I may look into pregnancy yoga now, is anyone doing that? I loved yoga before but haven't done any since November.

greatbigbushybeard · 09/01/2015 15:39

Spanx would cut in like hell, was what I meant to say.

thelentil · 09/01/2015 18:34

Yeah, spanx are not comfortable, but it's all relative, I might have been annoyed by the abundance of underwear if I didn't have a really sore back, might be sciatica or something but I can hardly move, apart from leaving my desk to pee

RevoltingPeasant · 09/01/2015 19:52

Lentil I have had a sore back throughout. Doing gentle yoga type stretches has helped but my MW also recommended getting a TENS machine early on and using that for back pain. Don't know if that would be suitable at your stage but you could ask!

Pipbin · 09/01/2015 19:58

Bushy. Next only do maternity wear online I think.
The best plan is to order online and get them delivered to the store. Then you can try it all on and return any that don't fit there and then.

I'm not buying anything until after the 12 scan if I can manage it.

FeatherFeather11 · 09/01/2015 20:27

bushy I bought mat jeans from topshop at around 14 weeks and 'grew into' them. I couldn't handle the button/waistband 'digging' on normal jeans and the topshop ones have done me proud: only now, at 36 weeks, does the elastic fall under my belly! Living in New Look maternity leggings at the moment - so comfy.

I've already grown out of the hairband through the buttonhole trick, it's ridiculous, I feel soooo bloaty

Pipbin · 09/01/2015 21:55

Lentil are you a slender lady? I ask because as a chunky lady I do tend to have clothes with a little more room in them.

sparechange · 10/01/2015 08:54

I've been living in H&M maternity leggings and jeans since about week 8! Any buttons, waistbands or zips made my sickness so much worse. Even tights made me sick!

The only warning is that they are so comfy I can't imagine ever going back to normal jeans!
The quality isn't brilliant, but they are pretty cheap - leggings are about £7 and jeans £10-15.
I've also bought some from Seraphine but I think they need a big bump to hold them up, because they end up sagging a bit around the crotch...

greatbigbushybeard · 10/01/2015 14:12

Thanks ladies you've saved me a wasted trip to our out of town next. They do indeed only do maternity online unless you live in a metropolis. The online stuff does look nice though. Might get myself together & check out h&m.

Pipbin · 10/01/2015 14:40

I've just had a look at the New Look stuff and they have some good stuff. Not a shop I normally go in but our local one stocks maternity wear.
Once that 12 week scan is ok then I'm shopping.

ladybunnikins · 10/01/2015 14:47

I got some maternity things from New Look: jeans, jumpers, some tops that came in a pack of three. They all seem OK.

RevoltingPeasant · 10/01/2015 19:29

Yes I've bought from New Look as well. And H&M. Would recommend H&M over bump jeans, New Look tops. Haven't used leggings at all.

Today we bought a cheap CD player to use during the birth. So it doesn't matter if it gets splashed, or, if we are at hospital, if it gets nicked or damaged. Also a baby bath support. I feel like we are pretty kitted out now, so just need to actually clean dino's room and start washing and organising stuff!

Pipbin · 11/01/2015 01:01

The thing with me is that I never wear jeans. I haven't owned a pair in about 10 years.
I wear either leggings, dresses or cords.
I think that a lot of my tunic type tops will last for a while so leggings it is.

winohhh · 11/01/2015 09:10

Bushy!!! Great scan news!!! So pleased for you!

I second h&m for maternity. I found it wax skid the only shop I could actually try stuff on.

I'm definitely feeling pressure in my pelvis now... Walking is getting increasingly uncomfortable. 38weeks though, I guess this is to be expected! Started thinking about the birth now, although still can't get my head around the fact we might have a baby afterwards!!

thelentil · 11/01/2015 09:26

I'm usually about a 10, but feeling much bigger at the moment. Had an excellent haul shopping yesterday, a nice work top and trousers and some trackies so I don't spend entire time at home in PJs. Also borrowing some of mum's clothes that I will grow into

thelentil · 11/01/2015 09:28

My back is feeling loads better, still tender but I don't have to plan for getting up or sitting down

RevoltingPeasant · 11/01/2015 17:00

Eek, I have had two bloody shows today!!

I had one at midnight last night, bright red fresh blood, and maternity triage said if baby was still moving okay then to just monitor it. I had another bigger one this afternoon and maternity is full so they can't monitor me. Continued brown loss (tmi, but surely we're past that) and baby is moving pretty much as normal though maybe slightly less.

HB MW unavailable so I'm guessing she's attending someone else. I've contacted her second in command who said to let her know any developments by later this evening.

I don't think anything is starting but eek!

thelentil · 11/01/2015 18:03

I have my fingers crossed for you RP

Pipbin · 11/01/2015 18:20

It sounds like it's getting exciting RP.

Bair · 11/01/2015 18:28

Could be the start RP!

ladybunnikins · 11/01/2015 18:53

Good luck RP!
