Hi rp yes, have downloaded it now & it seems better thanks.

Just had a massive row with DH out of nowhere. I got so angry that I was finding it hard to catch my breath! It was about money & dh was being really awkward & defensive & I was trying to be calm but he was so rude & snappy that I lost it. I can't help thinking it's really bad for the baby to get that angry. I haven't felt her move that much & really want her to to put my mind at rest. I really need to not lose the plot with Dh & just walk away but he just really infuriates me!!

Anyway have put away washing, made bed & packed most of my bag for our city break all in a strop... feel better now but haven't spoken to him yet. I just want to forget about it, I know I shouldn't lose my temper like that but don't want to be reminded of it & get myself worked up again.

FeatherFeather11 · 31/03/2015 17:33

How you doing bushy? I remember feeling that way when OH and I would row while I was pregnant, but don't worry too much. Hope you've both sorted it out now.

Hi everyone else! Hope all is well. Any news from our chloe yet? Grin

pearlcrystal · 02/04/2015 11:41

Hi everyone - just a quick check in to see how everyone is.

chloe lady - How are you feeling? any news?

bushy sorry about your row - I am sure you don't need to worry about it affecting your baby, unpleasant though it may be. Hope you and DH have made up now.

I had my 20 weeks scan and all looks good. My little boy was a such a wriggler and kept twisting and turning. The fiborids don't seem to have grown further either which is great news and finally the baby is way bigger than they are which sort of seems like a triumph.

I also think I felt first movements over the last few days especially after I had a coffee yesterday - has anyone else experienced this?
I know many of you might be off coffee so maybe haven't been drugging your LO the way that I have :-) #alreadyaterriblemother

Jelliebabe1 · 02/04/2015 13:39

Hey everyone

Revolting - I'm just at 9 weeks today! No MS either so I think I'm going to escape it (watch me eat my words now) the only two times I've felt sickly is when I've had a piece of carrot cake (faaaar too much icing) and a pudding (again too sweet) I do have a hair trigger gag anyway so it could have been that anyway. Touch wood and all that....

Bushy - I'm sure you've made up now - but I'm sure it wont have affected baby. Unless its all day every day they you'll be fine. I hope you're enjoying your break though :D

Pearl - YAY for the 20 week Scan - Sound great and Double YAY for him overtaking those pesky Fibroids!

So I told HR yesterday, I reminded her to tell me to do my own risk assessment! LOL although she was a bit concerned about me doing my own... I promised to work it through with my manager!

We're telling DH parents tomorrow! EEEEEK Strangely nervous about that one. They're a bit distant. I know they'll be happy but I do think it will be a shock. We've been married 11 years this July and they've NEVER brought up the subject of children ever with us... Not even to Mr Jellie on his own! I also think they may be worried about it being twins as StepMIL's grandaughter had twins last year and they were very early and spent quite a bit of time in incubators....

Hubby told his first person the other night. They did know about the treatment though so they asked. He did like talking to someone about it so I think He will enjoy when he feels he can tell his friends properly! EEEEK busy weekend coming up - Cant wait for Monday as I may stay in bed. Also have Tuesday and Weds off! Cant wait

Happy Easter all X

RevoltingPeasant · 02/04/2015 17:14

Aw Jellie congrats on getting to 9w! You realise that is almost 25% of the way thru, right??

And how nice that the ILs haven't pressurised you. Better distant in that sense than all over you with questions and surmises every time you look pale or turn down a drink!

Chloe.....?

So this week we are kinda-sorta trying to sort out Dodo's sleep with a lite-touch routine. Nothing too Gina Ford, but trying to establish roughly similar nap times, getting dressed every day instead of living in baby gro etc. this incidentally means I must dress her in a cute little outfit every day....oh, the trials! Wink

Also new top baby purchase! Sock ons.... Keep baby's socks on! Can get them at Morhercare and they are So Cute.

greatbigbushybeard · 03/04/2015 10:03

Hello all, everything is fine thanks. We went away & had a nice time. I had a treatment but the girl doing my leg massage was massaging so hard that I was squirming. I did tell her to alter the pressure & it was much better. Had a swim and a little sit in their thermal baths, I didn't sit in the bubbly bit, just the still bit which was like a warm bath so thought that was ok. They had those swan neck pressure fountains that pummel your shoulders so tried that too. We ate out lots & even braved our first venture to mothercare. Needed cake afterward to recover from the cost and confusion of all the crap we need re pram/ travel system. Dh said his first car cost less!!

Has anyone looked at prams? What about our experienced ladies, what did you get? Dh was quite taken by the mothercare orb but I've since read some terrible reviews on it. He's v anti all the trendy, expensive ones as he thinks people just buy them for the name. We looked again in John Lewis on our wY home & I actually felt quite embarrassed by his attitude. The poor woman was showing us all the different ones and he was just quite dismissive & I thought rude. I think he just wants the perfect one for us to appear & feels taken advantage of by the cost. I spent lots of time online & have seen the mamas & papas armadillo flip xt which looks really good. also like the silvercross pioneer. We basically need something fairly light ( back problems), narrow/ small as have narrow doorway/hall and that packs away well as storage an issue. If it didn't have too many extra parts that would be a bonus. If anyone can share their experience that'd be great & with the whole car seat thing too!

pearl yay over your scan & it's a boy! That's great he's overtaking the fibroids too.
jellie it is lovely to tell people, especially at first when you only tell one or two. Your ILs will be made up. They probably haven't asked because they didn't want to pry.
rp I got quite excited looking at the little girl outfits in mothercare- so cute!! Your routine sounds v sensible.

We are off out tonight for fish n chips with our more advanced pg friends who are due in May. I am just in love with food at mo. Our scales have broken so I am slightly worried about how much have chuffed on. Have great plans to go for a walk every day of the hols. Also tried on friends maternity clothes she lent me & she's much smaller than me (a 12 and I'm more 14-16 in normal clothes now, 14 in good fitting maternity). Some of it's ok but some is just highlighting the back fat situ!!

ladybunnikins · 03/04/2015 17:30

Bushy was it St David's Hotel& Spa? I've stayed there a couple of times (DH gets to watch a cricket match, I get to enjoy the spa area), it's lovely! Glad you sorted things out with DH. I agree, the price of car seats and pushchairs is crazy!
Pearl great news on the fibroids and how lovely to see your little wriggly baby.
Chloe hopefully you are busy enjoying newborn cuddles now!
Jellieenjoy telling your ILs today, they sound great.
No news from me, 38+5, sweep booked for next MW appt at 40+3, yuk!

RevoltingPeasant · 03/04/2015 18:13

Ah Bushy, the back fat :( my back currently looks like a stock newspaper photo used to illustrate an Obesity Crisis Britain type story. I am all about the healthy eating as of Tues, as I need to fit back into my work clothes by the summer!

We have the Phil & Ted sport. linky

Pros
Really rugged and apparently goes on forever
Can be used from newborn right thru bigger dc - we met a lady using it for her 7 yo yesterday Shock
Excellent for outdoors, off road etc
Quite light and easy to handle
Stylish
Good resale value as its a known brand

Cons
Folds up but not that small
Some slightly fiddly design features
Pricey?

RevoltingPeasant · 03/04/2015 18:16

Lady eek nearly there! So close and then all the bad times will be well and truly behind you and you will have your lovely little baby. Dodo is currently dream feeding on my lap and making little snoozy noises as I MN and eat cake. It's not all sleeplessness and nappy changes Grin

ladybunnikins · 03/04/2015 19:17

That's good RP, I think I've been reading too many MN threads that make it sound like hell, I suppose people don't start threads to moan about how good it is being a mum!
Bushy what about the baby jogger city mini or the britax equivalent? It's lightweight and you can just buy the pushchair, or you can add a carrycot and adaptors for a car seat if needed.

RevoltingPeasant · 05/04/2015 17:36

This is babyspam Dodo in her Easter outfit!

Happy Easter, everyone! Easter Smile

The Berry-Copter!!! (Early 2015 edition)
chloechloe · 06/04/2015 22:29

Hi ladies! All's well that ends well! Our baby girl arrived safely on the evening of 28.3. I was induced that morning at ET+5 as my levels of amniotic fluid were dropping every day and the placenta was showing signs of breaking down so the gyn said we couldn't wait any longer. We were warned it would probably take 2-3 days for me to go into labour as they started relatively gently with prostaglandins. Spent most of the day hooked up to the CTG but no sign of any contractions. In the evening the LO's heartbeat started dropping and the gyn said we had to consider having a CS or continuing with the induction in the morning. While me and DH were still discussing what to do, the Dr came back saying that she had just been called to perform another CS. In the meantime the CTG had got worse and the Dr said we had to go straight to surgery as she couldn't risk leaving us for another hour. Our baby girl arrived 25 min later screaming and with an APGAR of 9/10/10! She weighed just 2620g / 5llb7. The Dr said it was the right decision as she never would have coped with the contractions being so tiny.

Fortunately she didn't need any help from the neonatal team so I got to hold her while I was being stitched up and then BF her whilst in recovery.

Home since Wednesday and really struggling with BF as she's so tiny it completely wears her out, which means having to express milk to give her as well whilst trying to get her strong enough to feed alone. It's been worth all the hard work though as she gained weight in the first week and is now nearly 3kg.

Haven't had time to catch up on everybody else's news but hello to everyone especially lady who's up next - good luck!

RevoltingPeasant · 06/04/2015 23:02

Ahhh Chloe congrats!!!

I hear you on bfing. Dodo dropped to about 2800g or 6 lbs 1 oz. I did EBM thru a syringe for ages. But it passes! She now has a strong suck and is putting on weight well.

So what is her name and can we have a picture?? :) massively well done, esp for making the brave decision to have surgery! sounds like it was right.

RevoltingPeasant · 06/04/2015 23:03

Btw nearly 3 kg is a massive gain and you should be so proud! Took Dodo nearly a month to get to 3200g.

ladybunnikins · 07/04/2015 09:39

Congratulations Chloe! Well done on the BFing and I hope you've recovered well from your section. I don't want to be next!

pearlcrystal · 07/04/2015 10:37

Chloe that is brilliant news - many congratulations on the birth of your baby girl!!! I want to second RP and ask if you're happy to share a photo?
Your BFing efforts sound amazing.

RP Dodo's Easter photo had me smiling for ages - she is incredibly cute and love that she is smiling.

bushy we are going pram and nursery furniture shopping next weekend. Like you the armadillo flipXT is on our list, along with the baby jogger city verso, possibly sola 2 (though this looks a bit flimsier on videos) and the slightly heavier Joolz day.

lady how are you feeling? I was told this weekend that the last few weeks of pregnancy are 'designed' to be so uncomfortable that you no longer fear labor - I do hope you are doing OK

I believe I am feeling definite movements now and even DH could just about feel them last night. It's the best thing ever.
Also, massive weight gain over the last 6 weeks - having only gained 2lbs in the first trimester I've now gained a further 6 lbs in pretty much as many weeks - I am sure the holiday and Easter haven't helped, so hope it eases up a little now that there is no continuous supply of cake or else I will not be able to walk in a few months and will need to be rolled (I'm only 5'3").

FluffyNut · 07/04/2015 13:09

oh Chloe, thank you for being so detailed and sharing your journey with us, although I'm a bit way off, it's reassuring that it all worked in the end. congratulations!
lady, when is your edd?
pearl, I'm 18weeks today and I think I've been feeling flutters too, I think I've been so preoccupied that I was imagining them but last night and this morning I'm sure I had a pop (without tmi, like pre-pregnancy days when I felt gas build up but then suddenly go, does anyone think that's baby or actually gas?!?)
I hope it is, and will make dh sit and hold belly till he feels it too!
Hope everyone had a nice Easter and work isn't too bad. I'm struggling to get into the swing of things and the air con is really affecting my sinuses. last year I could use flexinade but that's a no no now! achoo! (Poor bump will get a headache)

chloechloe · 07/04/2015 16:45

Thanks for all your good wishes! I'll try and get round to posting a photo soon. I've recovered really well from the CS thanks lady although when they got me out of bed 12 hours after it I was walking doubled over and could not understand why anybody would elect to have one!

fluffy I first felt the little one at 19 weeks and it felt like popcorn so I reckon it's movement!

pearl We've got the Joolz Day and I totally love it. Went for a walk on the river today and shopping in town. It is great on the rough terrain with good suspension but also turns really easily when out shopping. And the little one loves it and sleeps really well in there.

ladybunnikins · 07/04/2015 16:51

Pearl I'm uncomfortable but I haven't reached the point of not dreading labour!
Fluffy my EDD is the 12th by scan, by ovulation I think it's the 18th so I don't think she's in a hurry to come out yet. My mum and sister both had to be induced post-dates, I was born 3 weeks late!
That's great that you are both feeling movements, it's the best feeling!

FeatherFeather11 · 07/04/2015 16:54

Congrats chloe!! Fantastic news!

Your birth sounds really familiar in that you were induced, ended in an emc and a tiny baby. Cleo was born 5pounds 11 ounces. She's put on loads of weight 7 weeks on and is catching up with her peers well. Sounds like you are being amazing with the bf. it's bloody tough, isn't it? Do look up local bf support groups if you find yourself struggling. Was a huge help for me.

lady you're next! Grin xx

OttersPocket · 08/04/2015 08:30

Woohoo!! Congratulations Chloe, also nudging for a photo....

Just popping in to say a quick hello Berries, not much happening here. I had my 20 week scan a couple weeks ago and all was well. It's a boy which is taking a bit of getting used to as DH was so convinced and hankering after a girl. DH's family don't have any girls so he thought we'd be the first to deviate from that tradition! We're excited (but what the hell do I know about little boys?!)

fluffy I've been feeling fluttery type movements for about two weeks now and mostly in the mornings. I'm not sure I like it very much, it seems so very odd! Oh dear, that makes me sound awful, I think it's just the fear that it might actually be working out this time...

Bushy We've decided to go with the Armadillo Flip XT as it just about fits in my Fiat 500 (with one wheel off). Car seats however are another matter entirely. I still haven't bought anything for the baby yet, not sure when I'll feel comfortable doing that although I have created a couple of Amazon wish lists to drool over Wink

It's probably a bit early for a countdown but I have 15 more weeks at work to go. How long is everyone taking for their maternity leave? I really hoped to be able to take a full year but DH and I just do not have enough money to do that sadly. I actually get a bit down when friends tell me they are taking the full year off and having pre-baby holidays and buying wonderful things for their babies. We're relying on a bit of help from our parents, hand-me-downs and credit cards. I'm not usually a jealous person but I think my hormones have made me a bit Envy I'd bloody love a holiday in the sun right now!

OttersPocket · 08/04/2015 08:45

I've just realised my last post sounds like I'm having a right old moan! Sorry about that, everything is good here. I'm just a bit tired and fantasising about not being in work Grin

FluffyNut · 08/04/2015 13:03

Hi otter, moan ahead, it sounded like you were saying what I'm feeling! I've only bought a sleep pillow for me and a type of pillow/play seat for baby and that's as far as I've gone as a) I haven't got a clue and b) still in the"don't want to jinx it" category.
I pondered over the bounty pack so called freebies until I went to order them and the delivery cost was more than the item, so back to nothing. Love your idea of an Amazon pending list. We're going to the baby show at the NEC in May so I will probably go a bit wild on special offers etc.
still no idea how long I will have off, or what travel system, or pretty much anything! enjoy the sun Otter! x
