Oh bair- a good day is a start which might mean it's becoming less frequent, but do go in if you are feeling rubbish again today.

Please don't feel guilty though - you hate being sick, everyone does!! It has nothing to do with wanting a baby or loving that you're pregnant - which you still do! It's just that you'd rather do it without throwing up all the time, and that's really not too much to ask for or being ungrateful.

Sending lots of good vibes your way

Bair · 25/01/2015 11:27

Thanks Pearl, better this morning after a crap night's sleep. Stupid neighbour had now fucked off after his mate picked him up at 5am and beeped his horn repeatedly as the stupid fucker slept in.

Food choices are based on what wont hurt coming up later if we have a repeat.

lumen · 25/01/2015 19:06

Congrats win and rp! So happy for you both. Keeping stalking for feather and chloe next Smile

FeatherFeather11 · 25/01/2015 21:51

Thanks pearl and lumen - looking forward to hearing your good news soon lumen and hope you're well.

bair your (ex)neighbour sounds hideous. Hope you get a better nights' sleep tonight. Looks like other berries have some great advice on various drugs that may help with the sickness. Can you make an appointment with your midwife or gp? There is no need to suffer the way you are. Flowers

How was everyone's weekend? No news here - a few BH and some lower belly cramping but nothing else.... Grin

rp hope you, mr rp and bub are settling in well! So excited for you! win you too!!

How is everyone? Worryingly quiet in here!

OP posts:
FluffyNut · 27/01/2015 12:46

good afternoon! I wonder if everyone has gone quiet because they are waiting for you, feather, to see how close you are? haha.

a massive thank you for the lovely welcome to the tread. I was so excited to be added to a list - never been on one before!

huge congrats to RP, I welled up reading about your adventurous night - wow, what a superstar. Unfortunately I've not had chance to check out the pic as I check in on my phone, but I'll see if I can get a sneaky look using the work pc. also congrats to win.

bair, how are you feeling now? hopefully not having horrible neighbours helps. I am watching you closely as your a few weeks ahead of me. I haven't suffered too much with sickness, saying that though it may get bad once I stop the pessaries.

bushy, I might steal your idea of using Palmers lotion, I didn't realise bio oil was bad - that's scary!

huge waves to everyone else, sorry I haven't said hi to you all, I'm still new to this thread and trying to catch up.
As for me, I'm seeing my own gp tomorrow to get all official after being discharged from the fc. I am trying my hardest not to panic, however last night we DTD first time since before egg collection and tbh not the best night of passion! tmi I was a bit dry and I think dh didn't want me to change my mind. anyway, today I've had a small amount of brown discharge (apologies if people are reading at lunchtime) so going into worry state that last night has upset things and caused problems! I don't have any pain though so if it doesn't get worse/heavier then just mention to doc tomorrow. has anyone else had a scare like this? should I get worried? thanks x

FeatherFeather11 · 27/01/2015 14:50

Hi fluffy, I wouldn't worry too much at brown discharge post-dtd. Mention it to your gp and if it gets any heavier and you're worried, go to EPU. Has it stopped now? I had it in the early days and it turned into a gush or red and then stopped. Everything was fine after I spent an ott evening in a&e. Flowers to you.

Thank gawd you came back! Copter is totally tumbleweeding!

OP posts:
FluffyNut · 27/01/2015 14:54

Thanks feather. It has stopped now so I'm going to chill and just drop it into conversation.
I hope I haven't broken the copter!

ladybunnikins · 27/01/2015 16:19

Fluffy I agree with Feather on the brown discharge. We weren't brave enough to DTD until after the first trimester! Are you on progesterone pessaries still?
Feather was it you who mentioned raspberry leaf tea? I've bought some but I'm saving it for later on, I figured it can't do any harm although it looks like you have to drink quite a lot!
I survived my last weekend on call, 6.5 weeks left until mat leave!
Chloe hope you're doing OK.

FeatherFeather11 · 27/01/2015 17:17

Jury's out on when to start the raspberry leaf tea, lady - my midwife said not before 37 weeks and my acupuncturist said to go for it from 35 weeks. I started at 37 as I'm a chicken! It tastes really nice btw! How far along are you now?

OP posts:
FluffyNut · 27/01/2015 17:22

hi lady, yes they are progesterone pessaries (might have spelt it wrong) my fc said to stop this week but I will double check with gp. I heard that one of the reasons ivfers don't suffer as bad with morning sickness is because the body doesn't have to produce as much progesterone.

ladybunnikins · 27/01/2015 17:55

I'm 29+2 Feather, looking forward to getting home from work tonight and putting my feet up! Lots of heartburn at the moment.

FeatherFeather11 · 27/01/2015 18:29

Ah, enjoy lady! Can't blv you're nearly 30 weeks already! And yep, the heartburn is a killer. You taking anything for it? Only thing that works for me is Rennies. I panic when I don't have more than two packs with me at all times! People keep saying "ohhh, heartburn means you'll have a hairy baby!" - at this rate I'll be giving birth to a baby gorilla! Hmm

fluffy sounds like a plan double-checking with your gp progesterone.

OP posts:
ladybunnikins · 27/01/2015 20:21

I'm using gaviscon tablets. My DH is very hairy so I think a hairy baby is guaranteed!

pearlcrystal · 27/01/2015 20:42

responding to the berry sign in the sky< hello ladies!

lady thanks for waking up the thread and well down for making it through your last weekend on call. How are you doing except for the heartburn? Feeling well?

feather how are you enjoying mat leave so far? I am sure you may have mentioned this before but what are your plans regarding the delivery - are you braving it at home like the courages RP or will you be going in?

fluffy don't worry about the spotting. I had it at week 5 and week 8. When I called the gp, he said that unless it becomes much heavier or is accompanied by cramps than it's nothing to worry about. Also DTD is known to cause spotting because the cervix becomes sensitized by all the changes in pregnancy.
In terms of progesterone, the reason that this is given to women who have undergone ivf is that the ivf procedure damages some of the tissue that normally a produces progesterone. Hence providing this additionally reduces miscarriage rates by about 10% in ivf pregnancies, but no such effect is seen in natural conceptions.

I have been working flat out this week, so not much time to check in, but so excited that it will be 10 weeks for me tomorrow. My bean is graduating from embryo to fetus and the end of the dreaded first trimester seems in sight and with it an ever bigger possibility that I might actually have a baby at the end of this which seems pretty amazing.

I am due to go in for Nifty screening at the weekend so will be having a full anomalies ultrasound plus blood test for circulating fetal DNA to check for all chromosomal anomalies. Looking forward to seeing the baby again, but a little worried about the tests and the 2 week wait for results.

FeatherFeather11 · 27/01/2015 22:09

pearl yes! enjoying it but getting a little bored now. Just have so e batch cooking to do over the next few days and then I'll be totally 'ready' - eeeep! In answer to your question, I wish I had the guts for a homebirth, but not this time round. Hoping to have the baby at the birth centre at my hospital. It's a midwife-led unit and if all goes to plan (yeah right!) it'll be the next best thing to home.

Good luck with your nifty this weekend. They can tell SO much from the initial scan that I'm sure you'll leave with your mind at ease. I had the Harmony done and walked out feeling pretty confident all was going to be fine. Are you finding out the gender? They did it for us and it's 99.9% accurate with the blood test...

RevoltingPeasant · 27/01/2015 23:51

Feather on the rasp leaf, I was told the nice tasting tea is not the real deal and you need RL capsules which you can get at Holland and Barrett and take twice a day.

They are foul but - if I'm anything to go by - they do work!

Think I started at 35w.

RevoltingPeasant · 27/01/2015 23:53

Oh and btw, buy some Lansinoh now if you want to bf. I am giving Dodo her third feed since 8 pm and by god my nipples would be a mess if it weren't for that stuff! Have some in your hospital bag ready for day 1!

FeatherFeather11 · 28/01/2015 05:08

Thanks rp - will get the caps tomorrow. already bought the nip cream and toying with the idea of using it from now as I'm already in agony and have been for a few day now.

How are you? How are you settling in with Dorothea? How's Mr Rp? He must be over the moon!

OP posts:
greatbigbushybeard · 28/01/2015 07:54

Hello, answering the call of the berry signal!!

fluffy you're braver than I am on the dtd front. We only did it after our scan & then I panicked!!

Interesting re the raspberry tea. I have some of the tea bags & quite liked them.

pearl that's exciting re your scan!!

Lol at the hairy babies.

Catch up later, gotta get a move on for work!!

sparechange · 28/01/2015 15:01

Hello!

RP so glad things are going well. Still in awe of you and your birth story. Just amazing! And hope that wasn't the last pic of D that we get..?

pearl Hope the scan and test went well yesterday. We can be test result 2ww buddies...

bair Is the sickness getting any easier? Hope things are improving for you

Bunny, Bushy, Feather What's new? Hope you guys are all well

jessplussomeonenew · 28/01/2015 17:00

For what it's worth I had bad heartburn (necking gaviscon like someone was about to take it away!) and had a baby with sideburns and furry shoulders! Sadly they are no longer hairy as it was very cute while they lasted...

pearlcrystal · 28/01/2015 19:49

Feather - thank you - that is really reassuring regarding the scan. We will find out the gender which is exciting for me I terms of visualizing the baby, although I don't have a preference either way really.

spare my scan isn't till Saturday but I will definitely be your 2 ww buddy. Does this mean you've had some further tests? When do you expect to hear back? Sending you tons of good vibes and here's to good news all round

fluffy bushy I don't think I'll be brave enough to properly DTD until the end of the first trimester ... And even then... To be honest nothing could be further from my mind, although I suspect DH might not be feeling the same way.

jessyour little baby sounds very cute with its downy shoulders!

RP glad to hear you and little D are doing so well, and thanks for all the advice and tips!

When did you ladies start to show? I have come to the point now where I am struggling a bit with the waist line on my clothes and have had to unzip/ tops of skirts and trousers while at work and delicately trying to cover them with oversized tops. I haven't gained any weight but my stomach is just a bit unpredictable. The main criterion for getting dressed at the moment is give... I am sure my colleagues must know something is up as I have a couple of dresses in very heavy rotation, which is not like me normally at all :-)

FluffyNut · 28/01/2015 20:54

Oh, I have to confess dtd was a quick activity and I did not enjoy it at all as was worried the whole time! hoping now it's out of dh's system (pardon the pun)
regarding showing, I don't think it's baby showing but bloated showing! I jumped from a size 12 to 16 in trousersConfused

greatbigbushybeard · 28/01/2015 23:09

With ' showing' I'd say small bumpage at 14weeks & def bumpage now at 15. Just before & after 12 weeker had to start the old hairband on trousers buttons trick & am now in full on maternity trews & leggings. Although all my work colleagues now know, the parents of the children I teach don't so I'm still wearing baggy stuff. It's going to get obvious soon but my head is very vague about announcing it as he doesn't want them all to panic. Waterfall cardigans are your friend fluffy as well as a scarf!

I am still feeling nauseous, esp of an evening after tea. Anyone else?

A few people have said to me are you buying things & have I looked at prams yet. I'm like no but in my head I'm like good god no! I think cus we've had a hard time getting here it feels right to just take it bit by bit. I'd feel like I was jumping the gun or tempting fate if I went out buying baby things now. Do you know what I mean?
