Thank you. It's 13:50 so lots of just sitting like idiots this morning. I'm watching friends, thought it would be perfectly inane. Watched the 'Free Porn' episode and forgot it's the one where Phoebe had her first scan Confused

FeatherFeather11 · 15/01/2015 14:50

Hoping all ok bair x

We're back. All looking normal, heartbeat visible so that was a big relief. Smile Cautiously excited.

FeatherFeather11 · 15/01/2015 15:01

That's excellent news. You must be so relieved. xx

Phew Bair! Really glad for you.

How is everyone else?

FeatherFeather11 · 15/01/2015 15:20

rp for the first time in this pregnancy, I can't bloody stop eating. Think the baby has moved down a bit so I can cram some more food in. Blush I just ate four slices of toast with Stilton and cucumber. How are you?

Feeling really flat over pip's news. Just gutted for her. Sad

How is everyone?

OP posts:
Pixie001 · 15/01/2015 16:47

Bair that's fab news.
Feather you can safely say you're eating for 2 now! stilton?? Is that allowed? am I needlessly excluding it? I'm hungry all the time. Don't know whether it's still hangover from Christmas splurge or hormones. Also feeling really Sad for Pip and selfishly it's also has left me rather unsettled. I'm 9+3, I have no symptoms and my confidence over having successful 7 wk scan has gone. Not had my booking in appt yet, let alone getting a date for 12 wk scan. Is it daft to have another early scan?

FeatherFeather11 · 15/01/2015 16:55

pixie Stilton is allowed! It says so on the nhs website - or at least it did last time I checked before Christmas. Can totally understand why you're feeling the way you are. I'm in the pro-scanning and less-mentalling camp. If you can afford it and it'll make you feel reassured, then why the hell wait around and fret endlessly. Flowers

Bair · 15/01/2015 17:26

Thanks. Smile

Pixie, I'd say if you can afford another scan do it. Locally to me they're £40 which I think is great value. The EPU gave me their direct number today and said I can call any time, I think they really do have an open door policy. Makes me wish every woman had such a welcome in early pregnancy when nervous.

I know what you mean about feeling flat Feather. I didn't know Pipbin as well as you all do, but she's been on my mind a lot. Looking around the waiting room it was just a wee band of worried faces. I hope they all came out of the little room as happy as we did. It's so cruel and unfair. I told DH to check his expression and to wait until we were outside before we got the pic out and looked (we had to wait for paperwork after) as I feel very aware of how easily it can all go wrong.

How's everyone doing in general?

RevoltingPeasant · 15/01/2015 17:38

Yes gutted for Pip. I would not post this if I didn't know she had hidden the thread, as it sounds very self-indulgent, but in keep thinking of her awful disappointment (that's a mild word for it!) and feeling teary on her behalf :(

Feather I am knackered today. I got up at 7 and swam 1200m which is the longest I've swum for a while, knocked about town getting some birth pool bits, and spent much of today doing laundry and tidying the house. We moved in here 18mos ago but we still have the odd random unpacked box gathering dust Blush so I am using my mat leave to try and sort some of it out.

winohhh · 15/01/2015 17:43

Oh pip. I'm so sorry, I know you're probably not reading this anymore, but I'm so so sorry.

winohhh · 15/01/2015 17:51

It's quite difficult to post this after pips news, but I wanted you all to know that our little boy arrived safely on Monday morning, at 38 weeks. I can't quite believe it, after everything, we're parents. We are over the moon, overwhelmed and exhausted!!! Thank you for all your support berries!!! I'll be hanging about keeping an eye on you all, between constant feeding and nappy changing!!

Bair · 15/01/2015 17:56

Congratulations Winohhh. Lovely news. Flowers

FeatherFeather11 · 15/01/2015 18:03

Wowowowowowowowow Win!! Fantastic news! Congratulations! Were you induced or did he make a surprise arrival? I have so many questions but I'll keep my trap shut as you have far bigger fish to fry now. So exciting.

rp you're up next! Grin. That swim sounds epic. And I'm with you on the house sorting - I'm the same at the moment. Remedying to get everything ready but in a way I feel I'm chasing my tail a little bit. Guess it's part nesting and part nerves.

bair I still feel that way when I go to see the midwife. Everyone always looks so nervous and I'm hyper aware that any of us could have bad news so best to be straight-faced.

Congratulations Win, that's fantastic!

Pixie001 · 15/01/2015 19:02

Wow win!!!! Massive congratulations on your new arrival and parenthood! Gooood luuuuck! Grin Such lovely news to know you're both well.
Feather I'm off to get a massive slab of stilton as soon as I get a chance! I've recently made do with edam and gouda... they so don't hit the mark.

RevoltingPeasant · 15/01/2015 22:47

win what lovely, amazing news! Congratulations to you and DH. I want to know all about it but like feather also don't want to bug you with questions.

Could you ever have imagined a year ago that you'd be writing that post? Grin

I am so happy for you.

jessplussomeonenew · 16/01/2015 06:55

Big congratulations Win, that's fantastic news. Take lots of pictures together because one day you won't believe your perfect little bundle was quite this tiny!

OttersPocket · 16/01/2015 08:50

Oh yay, congratulations win!! That is such wonderful news. I'm over the moon for you and DH Smile

sparechange · 16/01/2015 16:02

Congrats win! Amazing news
But are you sure it was 38 weeks..? It seems like it was only a few weeks ago you got your bfp!

pearlcrystal · 17/01/2015 07:40

Hi ladies - is there room for one more on the thread?

I am in the early stages (week 8, EDD 26th August ) of pregnancy with my first. It was a huge surprise getting pregnant as we have been TTC for well over 5 years with a diagnosis of unexplained infertility and not even a chemical pregnancy to speak off in all that time. Were just about to go for IVF (which I didn't feel very hopeful about) and then it just happened.

I feel incredibly lucky. Of course I am still scared because it's early days but we had a reassurance scan at 6 weeks which finally made me feel like there really might be something there and I wasn't imagining it all.

How are you all doing with your growing bumps? Anyone else still in the first trimester?

ladybunnikins · 17/01/2015 09:12

Hi Pearl congratulations on your pregnancy and as long as you're over 30 welcome to the group! I think there are a few still in the first trimester, I'm 28 weeks tomorrow and I'm going to be spending today on a hypnobirthing course. I'm a bit nervous!

pearlcrystal · 17/01/2015 09:51

Thanks ladybunnikins . Yes - I'm 34! Ironically I had a worked out life plan which involved at least one sprog before 30 but even though I started TTC at 28 this is the first time we've come anywhere near being pregnant. Funny how you think you can control these things, especially after 10 years of trying not to get pregnant before then and panicking about contraception! :-) . Of course after so many years TTC I feel pretty baffled that it's 'just happened' now, but very happy and lucky that it has in my disbelief.

Wow hypnobirthing - what is that? Sounds fun ... I am a total newby to all things pregnancy related so apologies for a total lack of knowledge at this point! Good luck with your course, hope it's useful and informative.
Let us know how you get on.

Bair · 17/01/2015 10:44

Hi Pearl! Congratulations. I'm in the same boat, was about to start IUI after 3 and 1/2 years.

Do let us know how you get on Lady, I doubt we'll afford a course but I am very interested in what you think of it all and how you get on. A friend did it for her second and rated it very highly. I'm sure you'll have a lovely day and the teacher will have those nerves away sharpish. Smile

Hope everyone else is having a nice day. Grin

RevoltingPeasant · 17/01/2015 12:26

Hi Pearl - welcome :)

Lady you are 28w already - how the hell did that happen!! I found it went really fast from about 29w so be prepared for time to speed up!

Can anyone do us a list? I am on iPad as off work laptop now and cannot cut and paste satisfactorily Hmm
