12w scan nub/skull theories

Hi I would like to put this to the MN jury - Boy or girl? I find out end of Jan

I'd hazard a guess at a girl as the nub is in line with the spine, like my baby's was (due my first girl in April)

I think boy going off the baby's skull.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to the nub theory. At my 12 week scan my babies nub was pointing straight up, meaning boy. But got to my 20 week scan and I'm having a girl :)

Thank you for the guesses, I'll update when we find out it will be interesting to see if the theories work, I agree nub looks like a girl but am unsure of the skull!

mine had girly nub and boy skull, found out we are having a girl, so the nub theory was correct for us :)

I really wouldn't pay much attention to the nub theory - i think its more luck than judgement!

I have three girls, pregnant with my fourth and after having my 12 week scan i was convinced it was another girls as the scans were virtually identical.

But, at the 20 week scan it was confirmed i was having a boy!

I don't think the nub is just a theory is it? We had scans with a fetal medicine consultant and he explained to me that's how he tells the sex at 12 weeks (was right obviously). It might just be inaccurate if an unqualified person is doing it!

Consultant told us the skull theory isn't proved at all, only the nub. I'd say a girly nub though xx

My baby had a 'boy' shaped skull but a 'girl' nub and my 20 (and 21) week scan showed her to be a girl.

Skull theory is bollocks. Nub theory is totally legit as long as you have a very clear scan and the baby is lying flat.
