Oh I do feel for you!! Lactolose is practically sugar and water so it's not going to harm you or baby ( I won't even take paracetamol if I don't NEED to ) and the suppositories you can buy off the shelf in the supermarket no need to even speak to a pharmacist and that's what I was advised to do by the hospital as the hospital pharmacy was closed and would take ages ! I would defo insist to see the doctor ! X x

I had this and the only thing that helped was an Enema Blush :o

I forced myself to drink plenty of prune juice and eat plenty greens to try to keep on top of it but had to take Lactulose too.

PebbleTTC - you have my sympathy... I am also in the same boat as you and pooping in the style of a rabbit about once per fortnight! (Or at least that's how it feels!)

I have been eating bran flakes, dried apricots and all sorts to try to get things moving but the only thing that has worked is Lactulose - you can get it over the counter so you don't need a prescription... As pointed out by other posters though, it makes you fart in truly spectacular fashion about 15 - 30 minutes after taking it, so I only take it on a day I am staying in the house!

DH is underwhelmed by the lactulose solution due to the excess wind but I think it's actually because I am gassing him out for a change! Pregnancy is such a glamorous business!

You can get Lactulose from the pharmacy OTC. It should get you moving in 24 hrs- it's true about the farting though.

And kiwi fruits - my midwife recommended them.

Try cranberry juice and Harvest moon hi-fibre muesli. Works wonders!

Finally some movement!!! Not much but something, went on YouTube and found some colon massages techniques, not sure if it was that or the prunes but hopefully it will continue and empty me out!
