pregnancy. spotting & sex is it safe?

im 10 weeks 1 day pregnant. ive been bleeding since i was 4 weeks pregnant. ive had 10 ultra sounds done. all show baby is fine no problems at all. dont no y im bleeding. ive only been lightly spotting for 2 weeks. havent had sex since i found out i was pregnant. im wanting to have sex but im worried if it will hurt baby. if the baby is fine shouldnt it be ok to have sex?

Hi tori. I expect it will be fine, but I have read that docs often advise you not to have sex if you bleed in the first trimester.

I too have had bleeding since wk 13 (the baby seems ok) and have been clearly advised by my GP and several midwives to stop having sex.

Still can't get my head around it as this means I will basically be celibate until next April (if you factor in the fact I may want to wait the 6 weeks that follow the birth) it all sounds so mad.

On the other hand - if I did have sex and then something awful happened I couldn't forgive myself... it's a real tough one...
