Weird symptom

I am 11 weeks and this past week my ears keep popping all the time. Especially when I eat something, I am guessing it's pregnancy related but I didn't have it with my last pregnancy. Anybody else having this odd symptom? Thinking I might need to book a doctors appointment.

Yes i've had this since about 18 weeks or so. It's like my hearing fades temporarily and feels like my ears need to pop. I'm 34 weeks now and it's still happening. It happens more when i've been rushing around a lot, I haven't noticed it being more prevalent when i'm eating.

I did mention it at a midwife appointment and she wasnt particularly worried. She said it could be related to balance and that if I felt well otherwise (i.e. no other symptoms suggesting it could be an infection), then not to worry about it.

It might be worth you mentioning it to your midwife when you next have an appointment though.

(Name change) Yes I think I will mention it because it's really starting to bother me. Glad I am not the only one though!

Yeah I get this. Sometimes my ears pop and then I go dizzy and have to sit down and put my head between my knees.

I get this too and never did in my first pregnancy. Its eased off a little bit now, but still happens now and again and I am almost 38 weeks now.

Yes I had this constantly up until about 6 months. I'm 31 weeks now and it don't get it anymore. No idea what causes it but I'm convinced it's a pregnancy thing.

I do wonder if ear issues are a pregnancy thing - I'm 18 weeks and my left eardrum perforated itself about a month ago (so painful!) and I'm only now getting my hearing back. Still getting popping sensations!

Doesn't your blood volume increase a fair bit during pregnancy? Could it be linked to that?

JennyBlueWren · 18/12/2014 09:58

Is there anything which isn't a pregnancy symptom?!

Weird ear popping/sensations were my first off symptom with DD at 5 weeks. Stopped a while later. This time (currently 20 weeks) they just pop occasionally at really random moments Hmm
