Evening

I am 35 weeks and am having regular braxton hicks type contractions every 4 mins lasting about 40 secs. I have pain in my lower back also. I don't know whether to call triage or not. In my last pregnancy I got to 4cm dilated without noticing any contractions so I am a little concerned I could be in early Labour but realise this may be normal as I am 5 weeks early. Any experiences/advice would be appreciated. Thanks

If it was just tightenings I'd say have a hot bath and see if they ease off, but as you have period type pains too then definitely give them a call. Hope all is well Smile

Thanks. I have been sent home. Cervix is closed and long and contractions stopped when I got there. They said to go back if I have anymore pain but I feel ok now. Feel like such a time waster but at least I'm not worrying.

Just spotted this, 34+4 and been awake all night with BH every 5-
10 minutes.

Just texted the boss to say I won't be in tomorrow and will be heading to hospital first thing. Hoping I come back feeling like a time-waster too!

Hope it goes ok for you

Still in Hmm

Cervix closed, but fibronectin high so I've been given the first steroid jab. Still contracting though. Looks like I'm starting mat leave early!

Hope your contractions stay away now.

Hope you are ok. I am still having contractions but no pain. I haven't heard of fibronectin. Good luck.

In my experience there is no doubting a real contraction when it hits!

I agree with that but I got to 4cm dilated last time with painless tightenings so best to check if prem I think.
