So , im 40 weeks today and am suddenly seriously freaking out about dying in childbirth . I came across amniotic fluid embolism.
And now I can't stop looking it up im so scared it'll happen to me!
My placenta is anterior and when checked previously it's been fine, bloods have always been fine , baby monitoring spot on etc only problem I have had is high BP but that's all no protein in U time etc
Ive just scared myself to death with the reading ive done on this!
I knwk it's very rare 1 in 8000 to 80000 pregnancies but what scares me is that it's very likely to lead to a fast death if it happened.

Juat worried I guess !

I know someone who had an amniotic fluid embolism and while the experience sounds horrific---both mum and baby are happy and healthy and doing well over a year later. It is such a rare complication and there is no need to worry about something that is very very unlikely to ever happen. Wishing you all the best for your new arrival. :)
