Sore down below - what can this be? (sorry if tmi)

Sorry if tmi...
I'm in my 1st trimester (about 9 weeks now) and am really suffering 'down below'.
I was diagnosed with UTI last week and had 3 day course of antibiotics, since I finished my vagina has felt very sore, sensitive and hot and stings but only after I wee. I'm very aware of it all the time as it just feels ultra sensitive down there!
I went to docs again today and he has prescribed me the internal canestan cream for thrush, but I have had thrush before and the symptoms were nothing like this (before I was itchy and had discharge and I don't really this time). Over the weekend I used natural yoghurt and the 1% cream but it didn't provide any relief.
He has told me to go back in 2-3 days if it doesn't clear and they will do swabs.
I just wondered if anyone else has suffered the same, could it just be the increased blood flow is causing me to be hyper sensitive? It's literally driving me crazy!

Hi, I suffered many of these (UTI's) with my first pregnancy, but more later on. They were especially bad and I actually ended up in hospital on a drip of anti biotics.
That's what has given you the thrush. The anti biotics I'm guessing were probably the 500mg? Or even the 250mg would cause it. The thing is they kill all bacteria, good or bad, hence the natural good bacteria of your vagina has gone, causing thrush. I think your GP has done the best thing and it'll just be over time it gets better.
Keep drinking lots everyday to ensure you don't get an UTI again, I'm not trying to sounds preachy, I just know how crap it can be when it gets to the temperture and hospitalisation part.
Hope your better soon.

I understand the antib's (yes they were 500mg) can give you thrush, it's just that this doesn't feel like thrush I've had before, it feels sore and sensitive rather than itchy and I don't really have any discharge - can this still be thrush? I'm just paranoid it could be something else....
Am drinking water and cranberry juice for England!

It does sound a bit cystitis-like. But OTOH during pg you do get a lot more sensitive down there, I remember being disconcertingly aware of myself, even without thinking rude thoughts. I imagine the extra sensitivity, plus perhaps a bit of dryness as a result of the UTI, might be making you uncomfortable.

Try peeing in the shower or bath, or pouring water over yourself while you pee in the loo, to reduce the stinging.

I remember feeling extra senstive down there too, especially after the anti biotics. They are horrible things, infact, one lot gave me thrush in my mouth it killed so much bacteria!!

If you're not comfy and still unsure, make sure you make your appointment to go back to your GP.
The water and cranberry juice sound good in the meantime. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Something I found very distressing when pregnant was that ladybits can swell rather a lot. For the whole pregnancy in my case. Was awful, felt very uncomfortable.
