leaking clear fluid 33 weeks

Hi. I am nearly 33 weeks pregnant and for the last few days I have been leaking clear fluid. Does not smell like wee but could be discharge. I have put pads in and it does not soak a pad and does not soak my underwear so it is not a continuous leak. I have left a message with the community midwives. My question is: if it continues over the weekend would you call the hospital/emergency midwives or just wait? It doesn't really smell of anything and doesn't feel like the same sensation I felt when my waters broke in previous pregnancy. I am just anxious about it due to infection risk etc.

I would demand to be seen right now. Any leaking of waters puts you at serious risk of infection.

Please don't let anyone fob you off.

And make sure, when they see you, that they test with those amniotic swabs, within the vagina.

We very nearly had an extremely sad outcome with our dd1 due to a gentle trickling of waters.

I don't want to scare you, but please treat this seriously!

Yes, it sounds like your waters may have broke. There are two sacks (I think) so could be first one......call midwife just to be sure xx

Ive had this a few times. Once it was the hind waters - think they were watery and slightly bloody pink. The other two times it was thrush.

How are you feeling down there otherwise?

If it's the hind water, you need to talk to the MW as you'll have a couple of days before they will want you to deliver possibly due to infection risk. If it's thrush, it's easily resolved.

I would go in and get swabbed

Thanks for the advice. I have spoken too the hospital and they said to go in for 3 and they will examine me. I feel fine otherwise just had a little bleed last week. Thanks again.

I wouldn't call your midwife I would call the maternity ward at your hospital directly

The blood could easily just be a bit of cervix erotion which would not effect the womb at all.

Was not my waters. I am so relieved. They have taken swabs to check.for infection and looked at cervix. Thanks again for advice. I felt a bit of a bellend for not going in earlier!!!

Sounds like you are in good hands OP. Even if you do have step b, don't fret as it's very common and straight forward to deal with
