Basically I have a bad cold, my whole face hurts, if I'm not coughing, I'm sneezing, or if I'm not doing that I'm having to blow my nose. I work in a call centre and it is the busiest day of the month today. I have already had 2 days off (Tues and Thurs (I don't work Weds anyway), would it be bad if I phoned in sick again today?

I really don't like the idea of taking medicines/pain killers while pregnant. Also the advice of paracetamol seems to be very vague e.g. on the leaflet it says "seek medical advice if pregnant", NHS website says it should be OK while pregnant but seek medical advice! :S

I had to take paracetamol whilst pregnant, many do. It's a personal choice obviously but it's the safest painkiller you can take whilst pregnant.

If you call in sick again will you have to get a doctors note? That's the rule in our job, three days and a note must be supplied.

I'm not sure, that's what's concerning me. Maybe I should just go in and lump it and then it's the weekend tomorrow...

Taking paracetamol is safe and it will make you feel better.

Paracetamol is fine in pregnancy, just don't exceed the dosages. In fact if you have a temperature it is safer for the baby if you do take paracetamol.

Taking paracetamol is fine, however if you feel really rotten then I would phone in sick. They won't thank you for going in and breathing germs all over everyone anyway.

Here is a patient leaflet about paracetamol use in pregnancy, hope this helps
