Early scan, very worried!

Had an early scan today (6 + 3 weeks)after very light spotting (which has now stopped) and we could only see the gestational sac which was 12.7mm. No yolk sac or embryo. Not what I expected for a 6 week scan.

Dc says he thinks I am actually 5 weeks and that I need another scan in 2 weeks. Struggling to see how I am 5 weeks as I track all my dates carefully.

Although I still feel pregnant I am worried it is a blighted ovum as I have read that empty gestational sacs over 12mm are usually a failed pregnancy :(

Any advances on my theory?

Really sorry for you both too. Just like happilymarried a year ago yesterday I had my first sign that my pregnancy (I was 7 weeks at that point) didn't seem quite right somehow. I spent the next 5 weeks worrying and being told how silly I was because early scans were picking up a heartbeat. I just knew though that it wasn't going to work out. And it didn't, I got to 15 weeks. 10 months later I too am 31 weeks pregnant and whilst I won't ever forget the pain and anger it does get easier to deal with and remember after a while. Don't give up. Wishing you both lots of luck and happiness in your future x

Sorry for late reply Jolly. I can't get medication til Saturday now. Had a work emergency so have been tied up at work all week, ridiculously. I had been signed off for the week to sort this out but then had no choice but to go in. Going to hospital tomorrow to have blood taken and sign forms etc before I get the medical management on Sat. Not sure what to expect now!

I'm coping a little better than I thought I would to be honest. I am trying to look forwards.

I had a scan which showed 17mm sac with yolk sac but no fetal was shown. I am 6weeks now according to my count. Is this a sign of miscarraige? Please help. I lost my previous on 7th week dont want to loss any more. Please help.

Wondering if someone can give some advice, recently had miscarriage in September and have just found out that I am 5 weeks pregnant, have had cramp recently and I'm worried in case it had to happen again. Should I go for an early scan or is this normal? Just because I had cramp and then bleeding the last time.
