clear blue digital tests and asking for a reassurance scan. Advice please

Hi all

I recently got my bfp 4 days before af was due. This was 2 weeks ago but the clear blue digital doesn't seem to be increasing in weeks and I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else?
I know you should stop testing once you get a positive result but I had a lumbar puncture done a few days after I got my bfp and had had cramping ever since and an worried somethings wrong. I'm thinking of leaving it a few weeks and asking my gp for a early scan to check everything's ok but I'm nervous he say no. I'm driving myself crackers and don't think I can wait the full 12 weeks. Has anyone else asked for an early scan and been turned down? Please help xx

Preg tests actually get fainter the further along you go. You need to dilute your urine with water for the line to even be there after a while. So the test results are showing you nothing.

There's nothing anyone can do to really reassure you in these early days. You could have a scan and five minutes later start panicking again that something is wrong. And you'd be taking resources from someone who is perhaps bleeding or really needs that scan.

Reassure yourself that statistics are in your favour. You are far more than likely to end up with a baby than not and every day that gets more likely. Rest, relax if you can. And good luck. And congratulations with your pregnancy

Diggies are notoriously bad for panicking people with those numbers. There are LOADS of old threads on this, so please stop using them... For your own sanity (so hard!).

Did you advise them you were pregnant at the time of the lumbar? I presume they wouldn't have done it if there was any risk?

Hi all thanks for your replies. Yep I told them. They said it was very low risk but with any procedure there can be increased anxiety to the person. I needed the procedure doing at the time and I rested alot afterwards. Ive got to see my gp in a weeks time so ill probably mention my increased worry too him. He will probably be able to talk some sense into me xx

I have a passionate hatred for the clear blue digis with conception indicator. They measure dates from conception which is totally different from dates the medical community would use and it causes panic for no reason. As a PP has said there are millions of old threads all asking/panicking about the dates on clear blue digis. Step away from them for your own sanity

As for early scans they might not agree to one unless there is a reason e.g. Bleeding or suspected ectopic. I think it depends on your GP and EPU. If it helps cramping in first trimester is perfectly normal as long as it isn't accompanied by bleeding or becomes severe. There's definitely no harm in asking and there are always private reassurance scans available.
