Heart shaped uterus?!?!

Hiya I'm 25 this is my first pregnancy and I'm terrified! had pains so had an inernal scan yesterday I'm 6+ 3 there was no heartbeat the Dr told me not to worry and I have to go back in 2 weeks and there should be one then just wondering if anyone had the same experience I also have a heart shaped uterus if anyone has any information on that?

I also have a heart shaped uterus, but had the luxury of not knowing about it during my first pregnancy although it really should have been noticed at my scan!!

I have carried 2 babies to full term. DS1 was breech, his head was stuck in one of the lobes and he was completely wedged in, so I had an elective CS. The consultant made me feel that really there was no choice about it

But, DS2 was smaller and managed to get head down and I had him by VBAC.

I have a bicornate uterus so more extreme than your heart shaped. Mine wasn't picked up despite numerous scans as my baby was showing as small. I carried him til 34 weeks when my waters went and had to have EMCS due to transverse lie as he got stuck when trying to turn due to lack of room.

I had a scan at 8 weeks as I was also told that any time before that is hard to find a definition heart beat. I also had numerous pains in th early days but have a happy healthy 6 month old now. Good luck for your next scan.

I have this (although I don't know how severe it is). Both my babies were breech and lying in exactly the same position. Both resulted in c-sections. The surgeon told me after dc2 that I'm not allowed to give birth vaginally.
DC1 was born at 34 weeks (with no health issues) and dc2 at 39 weeks.

I didn't know about the shape until mid c-section with dc1. No one could see it during any of dc2's scans. Apparently each subsequent pregnancy will stretch the uterus more making a full term baby more likely.

Also, I don't want to worry you but I've also miscarried twice. The drs were unable to confirm if they were related to the shape of my uterus.

I have this - was picked up at a 7 week scan and never mentioned again. I don't think it is severe and it seems that baby has filled out the dip in the top of the uterus so it's not bicornate like others. I'm on my first pg, currently 34 weeks and baby is head down and no problems other than GD (not related to the uterus shape at all).

With a heart shaped uterus there are various degrees of severity. It depends how pronounced the 'dip' at the top of the heart shape is iykwim? It's one of the more common uterine abnormalities though, and the outcome is often good.

I have a unicornuate uterus (one half only) and have amazed my consultant by making it to term (I'm 37+6 today), which nobody ever expected, so it's possible. It's not uncommon for these abnormalities not to be seen on u/s. Often they're spotted during a c-section as pp experienced. I found out something was wrong following fertility investigations but didn't get a full diagnosis until an MRI scan.

You will worry even more than you would have under normal circumstances, but try to enjoy your pregnancy as much as you can (easier said than done I know). I felt much better once I was under consultant care with regular scans and monitoring so maybe push for that?

Yes I will she didn't seem concerned she just said it was interesting, and about no heartbeat is that common at this stage x

I found out I had a heart shaped uterus after I had my dd. It was discovered during my emcs. I went 16 days over with dd and she was over 9lb so I didn't have any problems going to term.

This time round I am at risk of preterm delivery as I have an incompetent cervix which there is a link with abnormal shape uterus'. I'm currently 33 weeks so hopefully I'll manage to get to 39 weeks and get my elcs!!!

I have a heart shaped uterus - it was discovered during my first pregnancy and DD was breech, wedged in good and proper so ELCS.

I had a scan after having her, 3 months or so afterwards so everything had pinged back into shape on the inside at least and they could see more clearly.

I was told I was at increased risk of miscarriage, and that future babies would probably also grow breech or possibly transverse. I had one MC earlier this year and am now about 13wks pregnant.
