Was just wondering if anyone else has read that tinned food isn't good for you in pregnancy because of the BPA content?

Um, did you read that on an official site ie NHS or DOH? Or a site for lunatic woo / holistic types?

BPA is an ingredient in plastics isn't it? And the EU mandates safe levels for human consumption.

In other words, eat the baked beans!

Findingthisdifficult1234 · 11/11/2014 16:05

Scaremongering rubbish.

For your own sanity just use the NHS guidance on unsafe foods in pregnancy.

Also unlike what that site says you can have tuna too (and its good for you), just no more than 4tins? per week.

Findingthisdifficult1234 · 11/11/2014 16:53

Ok thankyou. I'm never googling anything ever again!

Havr you read the section on flying?! Don't walk too close to the luggage scanner or carry heavy luggage and make a personal humidifier from a wet hanky.Grin Grin Grin

I'm going to go with loony woo.

PickleSarnie · 11/11/2014 16:58

I think as long as you don't actually attempt to eat the tin then I'm sure you'll be fine.

Findingthisdifficult1234 · 11/11/2014 17:31

Ha you guys crease me up! How ridiculous! Haven't read the other sections! I will now though!

Penguins -they're right about not carrying heavy luggage -that's what DH's are for!

Want to make a checklist of all the things I've eaten that someone says I shouldn't have had then anything that's ever wrong with baby can be blamed on some food stuff.

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 11/11/2014 20:04

Nah Jenny- the heavy case is a darn sight easier than the equally heavy, and far more squirmy, toddler. Though our case has wheels anyway. Grin

THere's a section on that site on using the Chinese calendar to determine sex of the baby...
