Hi there, I'm 6 weeks pregnant - I went to the doctor last week and he said the midwife/hospital would be in touch for my first appointment-but I can't remember when he said that would be! (Baby brain already!) just interested in when other people had their first appointment. I'm a bit nervous as its my first pregnancy, so hope it will be quite soon!

I think mine was about 8-9 weeks.

Nothing to be nervous about, they just go through your medical history, your partner's relevant medical history, may do some blood tests, ask if you've though about how you want to give birth and how you intend to feed baby, give you lots of leaflets.

Hi im 6 weeks today and had a letter this morning for my first midwife appointment next thurs. I notified the midwife team I was pregnant when I was only four weeks though

JennyBlueWren · 10/11/2014 19:20

About 8 weeks is normal but before 12 is expected.

JennyBlueWren · 10/11/2014 19:21

PS Congratulations!

SilverStars · 10/11/2014 19:54

9 weeks.

Bubble8 · 10/11/2014 19:59

I am almost 8 weeks and had my booking appointment today. I rang my gp last Friday morning who told me a midwife would ring me. My midwife rang me later that same day and I went to meet her today. I believe they try and get you in for a booking appointment before you are 10 weeks. Exciting times Grin

teejayem · 10/11/2014 21:05

I was 10 weeks for my first appt

TinyMonkey · 10/11/2014 21:14

My first appt was my booking in at 12+4.

PicandMinx · 10/11/2014 22:59

Congratulations. Make sure you tell the MW (if asked) that you intend to BF, even if you haven't made your mind up yet. It will save you the lectures Grin

rubyboo2 · 11/11/2014 08:17

At my gp's you can book your Booking appointment between 8-10 weeks . Smile

muddylettuce · 11/11/2014 16:24

I was also told anywhere between 8-10 weeks they like to do it. X

montymonty · 11/11/2014 16:27

My booking in appointment was at my 12 week scan.

monkhelz82 · 18/11/2014 18:21

I have my booking appointment next Tuesday when I will be 9 weeks and 4 days according to LMP. I am told it will take around 90 minutes though I don;t recall it being so lengthy when I was pregnant with my DDs, though my last pregnancy was eleven years ago so things have changed somewhat!! From what I can gather, they don't like to do these before 8 weeks due to the high risk of MC in those early weeks. I did not have to go through my GP, just rang the local childrens Surestart centre, gave them my details and they booked me in there and then over the phone...

weelamb123 · 18/11/2014 19:51

weelamb123 · 18/11/2014 19:53

monkhelz82 · 18/11/2014 19:54

Congratulations weelamb123! Smile

weelamb123 · 18/11/2014 20:03

eastcoastmum2014 · 18/11/2014 21:22

Congratulations :) ... I think my booking appointment was at just over 9 weeks x

LovedandLoyal · 19/11/2014 15:10

I have my booking in appt next week when I will be 8w+2d. With my last pregnancy they said allow one hour for the appointment but only took 30 mins.
