Has anyone else had this? Is it an official thing??

I think so but it was more discomfort than pain. I was induced using a pessary. My cervix was closed and low on the first assessment. The pessary went in and after a few hours of discomfort (like a period about to start) my cervix was high and flat. Eventually I started contracting properly and then started dilating.

For weeks I've been getting a sharp stabbing pain in my fanjo (where I think my cervix is) but it's been loads worse over the last few days (I'm 12 days overdue now). I always assumed it was the baby's head because it only seems to happen when the baby's moving. But then I thought maybe it's effacement!?

But you should know having had that pessary. I guess I'll find out on Sunday when im examined for my induction.

Keep fantasising that they'll examine me and I'll be 8cm dilated already!!
