Apologies if this is the wrong place for this post.Hoping someone can help me here.
I have just found out I am pregnant, I have had irregular cycles so I can't say for sure but I could be anywhere up to 11 weeks already. I am thrilled and baby is very much wanted but we were not ttc and I had no clue I was pregnant. I have been drinking alcohol and smoking which is frightening me. I have of course stopped now but what are the chances that this has affected the baby?
Anyone else been in a similar situation?
I can't get a scan for a couple of weeks and i'm driving myself insane with worry.
Any advice/experiences greatly appreciated x

Please don't worry. The bad effects of smoking are mostly after 15 weeks of pregnancy, and for drinking it would have be really very heavy to cause issues at this stage. It's very unlikely that you've done any damage. If it'll put your mind at rest maybe see if you can pay for a private scan, but it's very likely you're completely fine. Super sensitive early pregnancy tests are quite a new thing and so many women wouldn't have known they were pregnant for ages and done much worse and we're all here! x

Thank you for your reassuring reply. I will look into a private scan and see if we can afford one. I think i'm going to worry myself silly. I feel so bad, just praying everything is ok. Thanks again for your response.
