Pregnancy back pain after birth

Hi,

I've got some pain in my back/bum/leg. I've seen the specialist antenatal physio who says it's a weakness in a muscle in my bum (lovely!) and has given me some exercises to do. I'm currently 36+6 so just have to limp through a little bit longer then labour. I've been assuming that this pain will go away once I've given birth and am not carrying a couple of stone of baby, placenta, fluid, etc. Then it occurred to me, what if it doesn't? How on earth am I going to cope with a new baby when I can barely walk sometimes?!? I'm currently using an upturned hockey stick to help me get to the loo in the night, as my left leg won't always support my weight after several hours immobile. I'm not going to be able to carry a baby whilst this unsteady on my feet. I was wondering what other people's experience was of how quickly there pregnancy induced problems or went away after birth?

Thank-you
