Stag do near due date?

To cut a long story short, BIL and his fiancée (I suspect she may have had more say in it than he did!) booked their wedding about four weeks ago. It is a month after my EDD.

They knew this when they booked it, but it was a last minute deal and I get that they were short on options. There are other reasons why it's a pita but DH is saying that unless he and the other joint best man can sort the stag do before Christmas he's not going.

I'm not arguing, but I know he and BIL will be gutted if he can't go at all. I'm happy enough for him to go to a daytime activity if it's not far. And if he can manage to stay relatively sober a few drinks a taxi ride away shouldn't be a problem, right?

However, I have no idea how I'll feel at 37 weeks! Should I just agree with him or try and sort someone to come and stay with me so he can go?

I'm currently 37 weeks and wouldn't have a problem with DH going to something like this. Especially if he's the sensible sort on not likely to get blind drunk and not be capable of answering phone etc.Anything for an early night!

Let him go if when the time comes you feel uneasy about being left alone ask your mum sil or friend to stay with you

At 37 weeks I would have been fine with this, I also wouldn't expect them to plan their wedding around my pregnancy.

Didn't think it would be a problem, nice to hear from some of you who are a few weeks ahead of me Smile

I don't think they're planning a lary time in Prague or anything, so should be fine to do any time. Thanks.

My DH had a big night out when I was 37 weeks. To be honest, I was quite glad to get a nice night in by myself! I'm of the mind he should make the most of going out and getting drunk now, as he won't have many chances once the baby arrives!

Depends how far away it is, but if he keeps his phone on and can jump in a taxi back if anything happens I'd think it was fine? You calling to say you're having the baby will sober him up pretty quick!

Grin He's usually pretty good under pressure! He'd totally freak out at getting that phone call considers doing it just for giggles

ILs are just down the road so there'll be someone nearby in case. Though the thought of MIL knowing when I've gone into labour and having a reason to be at the hospital is almost terrifying enough to veto the idea completely!

At 37 weeks I would be fine with DH going on a stag do as he would know not to get too drunk. I would prefer if it wasn't too many hours travel away and if he was flying or using train/coach travel I would make sure he got a flexible ticket so he could get an earlier flight home if necessary.
