Hi I was told I was measuring small yesterday 26cms at 29+5 and have been sent for a growth scan next week.

Last week midwife measured me at 27cms but he was transverse then and now he's head down.

Please reassure me am worrying something is wrong! X

Dont worry :)
I was measuring small at my 28 week appointment- I got sent for a scan and everything was fine baby was normal size... Now im 36 weeks and measuring big. Had another growth scan at 34 weeks and baby was weighing approx 6lb 2... sonographer told me to return any newborn clothes !!

I measured small throughout my pregnancy with my daughter and yes she was a small but healthy 5lb when born and is a very active and cheeky 18month old now. I had growth scans throughout also but each scan measured more or less bang on so no worries, i had scans every 2 weeks, i got to see my baby loads throughout and loved it. I knew she was healthy and was growing each scan so i didnt worry. Everyone on the ward coo'd over her when she was born as all other babies were 9-10lbs so she looked dinky.

I am sure all will be fine, it is more a precaution on the midwifes side more than anything.

Good luck with everything, i have been told i will more than likely have to have growth scans through this pregnancy too as i have had 2 small babies now so i look forward to seeing my baby develop throughout pregnancy again, i also got to keep all the scan photos which they dont usually let you do.

I was measuring small throughout, at one point 4 weeks behind. My daughter was born perfectly healthy at 5lb 3 but is making up for it now by BF a lot!

Try not to worry worry. I was measuring small at 28 weeks and sent for a scan. All measurements were bang on average and I was just measuring small because the baby was transverse. It's now head down (good) and I'm 31 weeks and measuring 31cm exactly so spot on. How tall are you/you partner? Even if your baby is a bit smaller than average there might not be a problem.

I'm amazed I have an "average" size baby when I'm quite short, as is DH. Both my other two were average-ish as well - bit small but only very slightly.

I was told I was measuring 'dangerously small' (by a dr who was ridiclous) sent for a growth scan at 39+6 (so totally pointless as you could barely see anything) and baby estimated at 6lb6. He was born the following day at 8lb1!

I measured small at 32 weeks, and was asked to go back for another growth scant 36 week,s she'd barely grown at all so they gave me steroids for a couple of days and then induced me, but that's the 'worst case scenario' they won't induce you unless they think it's really necessary and would'd do it that early either way.
