Hi,
I have 2 lovely babies with last one being almost year and a half old.
I have a hernia and severe muscle separation this is on top of some prolapsing but that is a whole other story. I was referred by NHS to a general surgeon that said they will fix this issue for me, take out the hernia and repair the muscles possibly with a mesh but I will have a long vertical scar on my belly.
So I said screw that and after a long research decided to go for a private Tummy Tuck. I will have a same scar but in my bikini line with all of my loose skin gone. I am very sure that I wan the surgery but there is one thing I am not sure of which is what if I want more children later. I am pretty old, 34 and need a surgery because of hernia, pains and just to be able to gain my normal physical function as soon as possible but worry that we will change our minds later. Like lets say 3-4 years from now.
Anyone with this experience? Having baby after tummy tuck? How did it all turn out, was the baby OK? Did you require another surgery?

I had a tummy tuck around 7 years ago and I now have a 4 year old and a two year old. There were absolutely no complications in pregnancy and the consultant wasn't worried at all. I think it made me a bit more sensitive to the baby's movements, I felt my first baby move from 15 weeks and could see it from the outside from 18 weeks but apart from that, everything was average.

thanks amatuermummy, it is good to know. did your belly ended up going back to pre pregnancy or did the tuck get ruined and needed repair? I read mixed feedback about that.

The first time it pretty much went back to normal but I had a caesarean the second time and it hasn't really gone back this time. Once I've lost all the weight, which I'm in the process of doing, and tried to tone
up I'll know more but I think I'll get it re-done in a couple of years if there's no improvement. I now have two scars, but like you said, they're not anywhere that they can be easily seen so it didn't bother me. The actual procedure was fine and I recovered really well, very little pain really considering the operation.
