Doula cost - London?

Hi, I am trying to find a doula in london (I'm in tower hamlets). I have contacted a couple and they quoted around £2000!!! This seems crazy and I definitely can't afford that. Just wondered what others had paid and what the going rate for one may be. I am thinking that maybe a trainee might be better? I don't have any family in london so the extra help during labour would be useful. Thanks in advance.

Hi. I am in South East London and have been quoted £650 for the labour. Includes visits prior, full length of labour and will only leave when happy with feeding/changing etc. Then one post natal visit to talk through the experience and check on feeding progress etc. Then, if I'd like more post natal visits, £20p/h.

I'm in south west and am paying £850 plus petrol. £2000 seems really steep. Are there any in training who offer cheaper options?

My very experienced doula was £650 Inc birth, 2 antenatal and 2 postnatal visits. I can PM you her website if you like
