My baby's beat app

I downloaded this today after reading that it was on sale and I first listened to the examples, found my own heartbeat, then was easily able to find baby's...of course, as I was pushing my phone against my belly, he was moving away from it so I had to move around quite a bit before I got him to hold still long enough to hear it good. I thought it was pretty fun to do though and my 4 year old got a kick out of it and I think it helps him feel more connected to his new brother :) Did anyone try it? :)

P.S im 28 weeks and you must put the device on airplane mode, so there will not get any transmission.

We have a doppler at home but I don't think I'd trust a £2.99 app tbh. Quite a few of the reviews seem to say they're finding the 'baby's' heartbeat on their husband's abdomen too...

I recorded and counted my husbands's heartbeat and the baby's at my lower abdomen.. and you see the difference, so it's real. a doppler is the best, but we don't have it and this app is great for us :)

Often people using these (and dopplers) are finding the placenta. The baby's heartbeat should be about twice your own pulse and sound kind of like a galloping horse. It is not that swooshy sound.

I used the sonoline doppler today and first 10 minutes could only find my heart beat and the placenta swooshing noise. Used it again about 20 mins ago and definitely noticed the heartbeat, right next to the swooshing noise but a 'bad um bad um bad um' sound! Was amazing and I am 10 weeks on thursday! Obviously I am not a doctor so I'm not using this as gospel, getting a scan on thursday too!!

I found my baby's heartbeat using a similar app at 25 weeks. 142bpm and you can record it and email it to someone. My sister was thrilled.

Just bear in mind this is not a doppler. And even home dopplers are for fun only.Smile
