Sore hips- how to use cushions to sleep better?

Blush I know this is a silly question, but I'm in a lot of pain this evening. How do you prop yourself up with cushions/pillows to alleviate hip pain while sleeping? Tried everything last night & nothing worked. I ended up throwing the cushions across the room like a child in frustration. Have a duvet under the sheet to help soften bed a little & a pillow between my legs (that does help a little). Other problem is that I change sides during the night anyway.

I didn't find pillows helped in the last couple of weeks, what made more of a difference was keeping my legs together when getting into & out of bed and the car!

I sleep with a v-shaped pillow between my legs and another pillow wedged against my back to stop me rolling over but my pain is in my bum and groin rather than hip so may not be right advice for you

Thanks for the reply Smile Had really bad back pain (PGP) that mostly cleared up with combination of Physio/rest/support belt and then baby dropping so doing as you suggest anyway as habit since. Pain has moved to hips/upper thighs now though & I'm getting really frustrated.

I wondered if people made a kind of a nest of pillows? Not v practical with DD who likes to pop in to join us depending on whether she wakes, but I'm getting desperate.

Thanks LittleRedD, have no issue staying on my side as usually sleep like this anyway but all suggestions welcome!

I used to do the pillow nest thing for a few hours, then have a couple of hours propped up on the sofa, then back to bed again.

I have a thin pillow under my waist. This means that my spine is not twisted when I'm on my side, and takes some of the pressure off the hip itself. I'm not sleeping particularly well, but better than I was :)

It also means I can't roll over and lie on my back (my pre-pregnancy default position).

Last night was a little better for some reason, will try the nest idea for a rest/nap later & the thin pillow under the waist as well. Only a max of 4 weeks to go now I suppose! Thanks for suggestions, even having something to try helps :)
