How flexible are they with due date on MATB1 form?

I have a bit of a dilemma and I'm really hoping someone can advise me. I became pregnant some time in September (my partner works away a lot and this was the only month we were together).

I think it was probably near the beginning of the month, but to get full maternity benefits in my job I need to have become pregnant after 22nd September. I am really scared, as it makes a huge difference to me (neither I nor my partner earn a lot). How definite are they in calculating due date? I'm going to see the midwife for the first time this week and am going to ask but could really do with some advice.

To compound the problem I hate my current job (my boss is a bully) and have just on Friday been offered a new one. I'd love to take it but if it meant losing maternity benefits I wouldn't.

Not sure what to do. Over the moon to be pregnant but don't know what to do.

If you need to have worked for a certain length of time prior to the 25th week of pregnancy to get enhanced may pay, you'd want to get pregnant later. My DH doesn't get stat paternity pay because he started his new job 9 days later than the cut off to get paternity leave/pay. So if I'd got pregnant 2 weeks later he'd have got it.

I had a young doctor do my matB form and she just asked my due date. I got the yellow folder out at the right page and pointed to EDD on scan report thinking she would want some sort of evidence.
I'm pretty sure they should check some records as it is kinda an important document in some ways and as you say, can make quite a difference to pay for you and your employer.

I would have thought of the dates for LMP and scan didn't match they should go off the scan usually.

This happened to me 8 years ago. Was out by 2 days. I begged the midwife to change it, she did! Think I was pretty lucky there.
