Thalassotherapy while pregnant - Can I?

Hello my fellow mumsnetters,

Do any of you know if there are any issues with Thalassotherapy while I'm pregnant? I'm 20 weeks and off on a wonderful babymoon next Sunday. The hotel has a really nice spa / Thalasso Centre. It's basically sea water warmed to 34 degrees with underwater music, colour therapy stuff (whatever that means) and various jets. I'll obviously avoid any of the 'harder' jets and won't let any of them get near my bump.

So is that ok?

I know jacuzzis are an issue as they're often heated to 39-40 degrees and can cause you to overheat, but this isn't as hot, so presumably good for me?

I'm also trying to justify spending £40 or so on a special pregnancy massage... I think it needs to be done :)

Cheers
Nina

The Champneys ones are 40 degrees for sure, I think that's the problem...?

Ask the hotel? If they have any doubts about it being suitable they will tell you.

I personally wouldn't feel comfortable doing it pregnant. The jets can be quite strong and I wouldn't want to disturb baby - the temperature issue also Sad
