Obstetrician appointment - not sure why!

Hi ladies. I've just returned from hols to find that I've received a date for my 12 week scan along with an appointment to meet with an obstetrician when I'll be approximately 16 weeks. I only saw a midwife when pregnant with my daughter. I've had 2 miscarriages since then. Would that be the reason? If you met with one, do you mind saying why?

I had this but due to underlying health problems that could affect the pregnancy eg. Diabetes, age, previous miscarriages etc. I wouldn't worry, the doctor will just discharge you if there are no issues.

Did you have anything "high risk" happen in your last pregnancy or labour?

In my hospital its normal to have a 12 weeks dating appointment with the midwife and the 16 week appointment with the consultant / doctor.

It was actually quiet nice and comforting for me as I got a scan at each appointment which made the whole thing a lot more real and also gave my other half a chance to witness a scan.

I had 2 small bleeds during my pregnancy but a very straightforward birth. I'm 34, blood pressure was fine at my booking in appointment as was my bmi so I'm a bit confused/worried. I'm also O neg blood but had all my injections when pregnant with my daughter so I'm hoping this isn't an issue. The extra scans will be reassuring after my losses though so I shall focus on the positives. Thanks everyone!
