They can often see a sac at 4-5 weeks, but there's not much to see apart from an empty sac, which doesn't tell you much. Then around 5-6 weeks you'd start to be able to see some structures in the sac. If you are 7 weeks, then on a vaginal scan you should be able to see a yolk sac and fetal pole, and quite likely a heartbeat (although it'd be too early to panic if they can't see a heartbeat yet).

I had a scan at 5 weeks where it showed a sac but they couldn't see anything in it.

I then went back for a scan at 7 weeks and you can see a little blob with a heart beating!!

had early scan at 7 weeks - blob with heartbeat.

at 5w3d - a gestational sac
at 6w3d - a heartbeat

be warned the scan will be internal

I had one in last pregnancy and didn't expect it to be a knickers off job (I do like to be prepared you know)
