Sore nipples when cold

Now it's turning chillier my nipples can get really sore, out of the blue. It really hurts and I am not really sure what do about it. I put an extra layer on in the house, but it also happens when out and about and it makes walking very uncomfortable...

Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with this? I'm 15 weeks...

I definitely had this earlier on in my pregnancy (which was feb/March so pretty chilly). I remember asking my DP just to gently lay his (always boiling hot) hands on my nipples to warm them up.

I had this the whole way though when it was cold, sorry! I ended up either wearing padded bras or padding normal ones and wearing a strappy top under tops.

Yup, a willing warm-handed DH is very useful. I also made myself some oat-filled breast pads that I can gently microwave and tuck in my bra. Useful if I'm going outside for something quickly and don't want 20 minutes of agony after.

Could it be Raynauds?

I get it in my fingers but it's quite common in nipples during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

I definitely had this through most of my pregnancy with DD, couldn't walk round the chilled and freezer aisles in supermarkets without crossing my arms over my chest to keep them warm and when I was outside had to cross a scarf over them to keep them toasty otherwise they hurt like hell if they got even a whisper of cold to them. DD was born in February so I spent the winter with a well wrapped up chest.

I've put breast pads (the sort you get for breastfeeding) inside my bras. It helps a bit. The thing that gets me is they are suddenly sooo sore and take ages to go back to normal.
